We got an early start the next day and drove straight for about 9 hours with only a few scenic stops :)
It was the first long haul for the LJ73, but nor the girl or the cruiser complained, all good!

I'll just share a bunch of photos here from the week with lots of interesting trails.

Navigating the area using old soviet maps:

Dropping to 5-6 psi when we got to the wet stuff.

Deceiving territory... a little vegetation, but swamps underneath.

Dual rainbow, it was a spectacular sight!

And just when it couldn't get any more magic, it did! Two rainbows lured out two raindeer in the back!!

Amazing! What a brutal way to treat a tire. Those pictures so remind me of up north here in BC,
looks like a heck of a great trip.

It was great!! Regarding the tire, it's not really brutal when the air is out and the log has no sharp edges.
Does not take much pressure to press it off the bead.
They get beat a lot harder during the trails ;)

She's handling that 73 easily! keeping up without lockers on skinnies!

Sometimes the tires just dont cut it. or should i say they get do get cut! some of the rocks are like razors.
Straight slashed the D in GOODrich! ouch, glad we had plugs.

Thanks for the entertainment! I just watched the whole thing, would have to have a bunch of truck
together to do some of that stuff. Sure beats TV!! Good group of trucks, never seen a hardtop jeep like that before,
and of course the V8 RangeRover on boggers.
Do the blue Bj70 and the Bj73 have the same motor? Just curious.

Glad you enjoyed it!
It is always fun to gather and kick tires in Finland, so many creative rigs. The cj-looking is actually not a jeep, so he can run with the. It's a rare Dong-A, licenced Korean built with Isuzu diesel engine and hard copied dana axles. (Ssangyong/Korando) Cool little pretty bomb proof rig with lockers. Could use a few extra hp, looking into stuffing a 2.8 Isuzu to solve that.

If you look closely, both the 70 and 73 are LJ's, light duty's, with mini 8' axles and coils, which is pretty nifty. The 70 has the 2L, 2.4 diesel and mylady's 73 has the 2L-T ;p

We are doing the 'dryer' trails... For the 'wetter' trails there's another lineup of rigs that I didn't catch on tape, some interesting builds for sure!
