Lately I have felt like selling my truck, honestly never thought I would be without a 40, but it just sits in garage and I dont drive it because it seems like we can not take the family around with it because of the safety of the rear jump seats and or we are carrying around too much stuff. I havealso been busy with other projects and endeavors, just wondering if it is time. I however dont know what current market for trucks are. just looking for your honest opinion on what you think. here are a few points and pics. ( I know I am forgetting things)

Rust free 1976 fj40
350 fuel injected ram jet chevy engine (4-5k on it)
Air conditioning
H55 5 speed
3.73 gears
Power steering
Front and rear ARB locking diffs with air compressor
Long field chrome moly front axels and internal lockouts parts
Bilstein shocks
U bolt flip kit
Warn 8274-50 with rope
Front axel rebuild 1k ago by LCR4x4
4 plus front/rear bumpers with carrier basket, tail light guards and front brush guard.
New oem lights all around
New ridgid LED light bar and cube lights front and rear
New bfg mud terrain tires 1k on them
New OEM rims and hub caps
Newly upholster oem seats with heated inserts installed.
New oem reproduction front floor mat
New tuffy center council with stereo speakers and sub.
New dash ( not installed)
New door panels (not installed)
New sun visors (not installed)

yes there are a few dents and scratches... but honestly this thing is a paint job away from being almost perfect.

thank you in advance for your price help and any advice you can give me. Or help talking me off the cliff :)

You will regret selling it.

that alone is my biggest fear... This is the truck I would build if I built another one and I cant even imagine how much it would cost to build...

Why not remove the jump seats and install a forward facing bench seat or 2 forward bucket seats? Would take very little effort. Then you can drive it. I think it's a terrible time to sell a vintage vehicle. I dont see 40s bringing a lot of money right now but haven't tried real hard to eye the market either. My guess is 15 to 20k because of the down market.

To piggyback on what Whitestripe said, the market is really funky right now. If you don’t have to sell, don’t sell. Check out the BAT auctions, they are all over the place. Yours would do well there. Take it for beer runs, date night or spend some alone time wrenching or driving.

yea, I defiantly dont have to sell it. It is sitting in a heated and cooled garage spot and can stay there.... You might be right... Timing might be way off. no way I would sell for 20k...

Your rig is a thing of beauty. An ls conversion softop with nothing special just did $66k on BAT. if you decide to sell make sure to have a reserve.

edit, softtop

I know everyone believes in a "down" market, but , with these vehicles I do not believe that. Will they go so low as the years past ? FJ Co. still has orders, and for HUGE money. Your vehicle is very valuable and worth a bunch. I am a purist so I must strain to get to the side of builders. Your rig seems well built and thought went into the build.

Keep it - I built the ideal HDJ80 a few years ago and then sold it because it didn't quite suit my needs anymore. I've regretted it at least once a week since and it's price-prohibitive to build another one.

With the right buyer, who isn't a purist but has plenty of $$$, you could get $60k.
