Im pretty sure I've identified all of my fuel and brake lines; definitely been wrong before, though... But this one has me stumped a bit. My 40 is a late 77 build. This is on the passenger side down low. You can see the carbon filter up above. Let me know what you think.

That looks like the tank vent. Mine's the same build month/year, but I can't verify that I'm right at the moment, because it's outside and I'm not.

Thanks for the super fast response! If when you look you find you're correct. Where does the connecting hose go to in the engine bay?

into the charcoal can.

Search charcoal can or fuel evap on here, it won't take long to find a pic. There was a fairly detailed thread on this subject within the last 6 months with lots of pics. Do you know if you have a correct year & oem charcoal can ?

If I'm not mistaking, that vent line off the bottom of the canister goes through a grommet into a void under the tub and open ends there.

Thanks all for your help! So, do you think this is the other end of it? On the canister side, it reads on the forum and in the FSM like the bottom port is meant to exhaust air out to the atmosphere, so the line must connect to one of the ports on top. But in the Cab of the vehicle, I'm not sure this was connected since I've owned I've owned it. Does it connect to the top of the fuel separator?

Thanks ya, even a broken clock is right twice a day! I have a hard time with these breakouts, but you all helped me get there and I appreciate it. Same issues I had visualizing curves in calculus.

Dude, 77740F is your tube in the picture you posted. It attaches to the hose on the bottom of the charcoal canister in the diagram, item 77740!! It even calls out the clamp 96132-30600.
But 77740F looks like it goes to nowhere, which tracks with venting to the atmosphere? Also the inspection procedure seems to confirm this
