Well, tonight was eventful. The current belts were frayed, and cracked. I was able to replace 2 of the 3 belts. I’m using Gates green stripe belts. I was given a wrong PS outer belt. So I couldn’t finish. I also sheared the idler pulley tension bolt. It was bent, and I didn’t see it was bent. And bam, one bolt became two. Ace hardware had something that would work.

My fan clutch is pretty grimy. About 10oz of s*** was in the clutch when I blew it out.

I also started to replace the fuel filter. It had a date on the canister from 2006. The “fuel” inside was brown, and full of sediment. My neighbor came over when I pulled it, we BS’d the rest of the night. I’ll finish up tomorrow. Lots of work planned for Saturday!

I found a couple Slee headlight/aux light upgrade harnesses in a box last night. Going to put those in at some point. Last night finished up the belts, and fuel filter.

Today, new exhaust/cats are going in. Maybe clean up the AUX wiring rats nest that is the battery compartment.

I’m going to nickname my LC “The Mistress” as the majority of my free time is spent in the garage lately.

We’ll exhaust was a bust today. The kit I bought didn’t have all the parts I needed. Does anyone know where I can buy the Y pipe that’s after the cats?

Actually, I just looked at the blow up diagram. The Y pipe I have is not shown in the exhaust parts…… Super.

I got the Slee headlight and AUX harnesses installed. Really cleaned up the rats nest that was my engine bay.

Finished up the wiring today. Came out pretty slick.

I cleaned up the grill, sanded and rattle canned matte. It was pretty beat, and peeling.

My new LPSV should be in tomorrow. Then I can finish up the brakes. Would anyone with a 3.5” lift be good enough to share a photo of how the arm goes from the axle to the valve, please.

On second thought, seems like the winch may need a new relay. The retract seems to be a little intermittent. Is that a normal wear item?

The old winches like yours used big starter solenoids, you can replace the sticky solenoid or upgrade to an Albright solid state relay controller either after market or direct from Warn.

@JonChimpo in post 106 (1st picture) it looks as though the main power cable to your winch (under the headlight) is rubbing, might want to check and ensure it isn't worn through as it looks like your setup is wired directly to your battery.

Also, with all the "extra" parts you keep finding you might just fund the purchase price of your elusive Y pipe.

Hell yeah man, I’ll look at that. I think it’s good, but worth a double check. Thank you.

Wow, I just unbolted and regreased the Fairlead. That was the most frozen bolt that I have ever removed. It took all of my body weight to get that thing to budge a millimeter. Millimeter by millimeter I got my nut off. 🤣

I found more parts…. Full set of fuel injectors..

It makes me feel good that I’m doing this work with his parts. It’s what my cousin wanted to do but couldn’t.

Another note,

My valve came in yesterday. I get to install and have rear brakes again.

I’ll look into that Albright. Thank you!

Lspv installed. I’ll get a buddy to bleed tomorrow.

I ordered up some new headlight bulbs. Should be here in a few days.

I get to take a 5hr round trip to pick up hopefully the correct exhaust on Friday. Fingers crossed, I’ll be installing exhaust Saturday.

This LC is really cutting into my sleep schedule.. night.

Well, 3:4 of my rear swaybar bolts broke off in the axel. I was able to drill and tap 1 successfully, 1 hole i obliterated, and the last one I broke a hardened spline extractor off in the bolt.

Damn, not my night.
