Haha I hope not. You decide if your gonna keep yours or not?

I started selling some hoarded parts to buy some useful parts for the 40. I really do love it and would have a hard time parting with it, I just know it's going to be a ton of work and not practical at the moment. Baby steps until I can make some significant changes.

White Stripe!

Keep them black... but here is how it could look.

Id test fit the soft top again to see how the flares look with it. . . gut feeling says the black flares will look good with the black top. Blue flares would look better if you plan to put the blue hardtop back on. . . Maybe get a second set of flares and paint one set blue?? :hmm:

Photoshop Elements, its their stripped version that I will still never master. I used hue replacement/colorize.

I like the blue fenders, but if I were going to wheel it I'd have to keep'em black.

I think if it is a wheeler at all, these guys are going to take pin stripes at the minimum and full scrapes are likely... Black will look better longer and be less work down the road.

your rig looks so good either way. honestly it seeing you pictures that is motivating me to make more time to get mine back together. i just love the blue.

i initially thought stick with black flares but i really like the blue in your photo shop. i've never seen painted flares before that i liked better than black but you may have nailed it. if you stick with black i'd suggest using black rivits. i did it with mine and i think it looks cleaner and less like the j**p guys flares

Working on getting the rear seats in. I messed up the por15 on the floor bracket and had to touch it up so it's gotta dry for a while. A little cup holder thing will go on the seat bracket over the fender eventually.

I installed the other seat bracket as well. I made the bracket like this so I didn't have to drill more holes in the tub.

I was worried about the tail gate getting damaged just sitting around so I started on it. Put some weatherstrip on the edge.

This is what it looks like from the back with the raptor liner. And u can see how the seat folds up again.

I used stainless screws and bought some more of those rubber backed washers to protect the paint. Also used cut inner tube rubber as a gasket between the flange and body. Not fully tightened up here.

I am happy with the look of the tailgate. It came pretty rough from the vendor. The indentations had dents in each corner. I told the body shop guy to spend 200 bucks shop labor on smoothing it out and call it good. It looks pretty good up close and far away. I'm glad I went away from the flat tail gate.

The black makes the wheel wells look larger the blue makes the body look larger. I think I am leaning toward blue. But black flares are more utilitarian on a rig that gets wheeled regularly. Looks great either way.
It's definitely going to get wheeled!

Rear seats are in along with retractable lap belts. The rover seats have cup holders that clip on. Put one on, ordered another cup holder for the other side off of eBay. Also installed the rear bumper and spare tire. Rear suspension leans now so I am going to have to address that at some point. Next step is reconnecting lockers and compressor.

Soft top will have to sit in the Sun for a bit before I can fully put it on

I finished up installing the soft top after letting it sit in the sun for a bit. I also took my aftermarket mirrors off to figure out why they don't stay in place going down the road. The screw inside was only half way in significantly reducing spring tension. I doubt it was ever fully in because I've had this issue since they were new. I pushed the spring up and pushed the screw all the way in. I don't think I'll need a nut as the spring is pretty powerful. Now the mirrors seem much firmer.
