I run 37x12.5x15s and I love the height. With the 15 (rather than 17), the extra sidewall height gives more flex when aired down. I typically run 9-10lbs.

Ya I would rather run 37s with a 15 but they don't come up for sale too often on craigslist. I typically don't buy new tires because I usually find such good deals on people wanting to upgrade. What I really want are the 38" creepy crawlers on a 15. These 37s have pretty much the same sidewall height with 17s as my 35s with 15s but the 37s are 1" narrower in width. Ive been running lower and lower pressures as I get used to the krawlers to see how they react which is kinda cool to see the differences in grip.

The Rising sun 4x4 club puts out a toyota calendar every year. Pretty nice calendar and they put me in as the month of february. So guess what calendar Ill be using next year lol. Thankfully you can't see my face clearly so as not to scare people. They have some other really cool toyota pics as well...

With the used rear springs having a fee runs on them it was time to give the rear more support. I left the spring clamps open for this. I took some old fj40 main leafs and cut the ends off and coated with slip plate.

Then used some clamps to hold em together n removed the center pin.

Then just added the leads and put it back together. Used a extra long bolt for initial lining up, then clamp together and install center pin.

Installed new door weatherstrip on the driver door. Getting the 40 year old stuff off was pretty tough. I used a heat gun to soften it up and help it unstuck a bit. Gound some rust underneath so removed and treated it.

Putting new on was tough as well. Had to leave my cruiser at work and take a uber home. I didnt want to risk messing it up and wanted the adhesive to set well.

These holes were drilled during initial fitting. I made a gasket out of inner tube for gas door bottom. I've noticed on the bottom of the aqualu opening that water can pool at the bottom. I was thinking of putting liquid polyurethane to fill that void so that the water just flows out the bottom of the door opening. Any ideas?

I installed a new Bump Stop for the door but had to drill the hole out because all Toyota has are the late model bumpers available and they take a bigger hole. Also got a new lock gasket. Had a unleaded decal from SMG so threw that on and looks pretty awesome.

Then I had some stainless screws for my hood and windshield hinges. Tried some rubber washer gaskets to keep moisture out of the screw area which causes rust. But the rubber squeezed out quite a bit and I'm not sure if I care for that although I don't think it really looks that bad. What do you guys think?

Been fairly preoccupied last month or so. I got a new rig that will eventually replace my current daily driver. I wanted something with more power and towing ability. So I got this..

Needs a lot of work however I got it cheap. But one of the benefits of it is this...

I have put some more stainless hardware on the 40. I've also been cleaning up the old sliders to be stretched due to the wheelbase stretch. In addition I burned a new chip for the efi and I'm pretty happy with it.

Nice 80 series! ;) Is that a 6.0?

Got a new center console for my cruiser. The only thing is that I think the rear drawer is going to rattle. Should hopefully be easy to remedy. On the front a swich plate mounts, i will keep my toggle switches im currently using and just put them on this console. Im going to try to fit my sliders this weekend too. We also got a pretty nice 4runner in the shop the other day...

We had dibs on that console! Came down ill & couldn't meet up to close the deal, so the seller move to you apparently. Glad it stayed in Rising Sun! Maybe we'll get a chance to check it out in person in your truck at a meeting or run one day before we buy a new one. Having never seen one in person, paying $300 plus shipping has always seemed risky.

Yea I think he was in a rush to sell it.

Makes sense. Our loss is your gain & all that. Plus, it will likely be put to better use in your truck anyway, so that is a win!

Actually I think these consoles are primarily made for first gen Broncos. I've seen them on Bronco websites for cheaper. I'm almost positive it's a Bronco aftermarket accessories Company that makes them. I could be wrong. The cruiser crap version does come with simple fj40 specific brackets which is cool. Supposedly their respective brackets for an fj60 too as an option. The quality is pretty nice for the most part. The rear drawer will rattle like crazy unless I modify it. I'll install it and take pics and all that.:beer:maybe even a video. I do go to the rs meetings at times. i went to December's.
