Thanks Redgrr, but there was a lot of trial and error in getting to where it is now!

Here are a couple of short videos - just shots thru the windshield driving along. We were in such a rush to meet up that we didn't take many pictures. I thought we were way behind schedule and didn't want Redgrr to have to wait on us. Turns out he had a couple issues slow him down and we both arrived in Butte in short succession.

Cruising down to Butte trying to make time.

The gear whine you hear is the Advanced Adapters 4:1 gears. Sometimes sounds like a jet engine spooling. I don't mind the whine but it is loud.

And the Baton made it to the garage!

Never thought I’d see a FJ40 actually pass someone...

Let's get an update on where all the batons are!

Heck, I could have handled half the handoffs myself! Just got back from a 14 day whirlwind road trip covering over 5100 miles thru 16 states, CA to IN, then back thru MN, SD and MT.

But not in a 40. I think Kevin has the toolbox in Canada. Have not heard of the other two for a long long time. Last I heard the briefcase was in Colorado and the other toolbox was in Arizona. Anyone know for sure? I'd love to do another handoff, that was cool.

Don't flame me but I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Dammit, I missed @Awl_TEQ in Butte!!!! I haven't kept up with this thread due to moving and now I missed out on action in my neck of the woods!

@65swb45 Mark was in MT and I missed out on that one also!

:bang::bang::bang:

I'm finally back on the road (sort of) if a toolbox makes it back toward the east coast at any point. Would make for a nice shakedown run!

Love seeing one of the stickers I left on the toolbox.

The Solid Axle Summit is around the corner (early August) in Ouray, Colorado. Anyone driving their FJ40 westward from Ouray back towards Utah, Nevada, or California after the festivities? If so, there may be an opportunity to get the briefcase on its way again. @Reznugget

Hi Guys!

I feel very guilty for not posting more info and photos etc. but mostly for not getting the baton passed on yet. I did take it up north to a Landcruiser gathering and posted pics of it here -> Winter Event February 16th-19th, This year in Fort McMurray

I will locate my photos and post up here very soon - I promise!! right now I have to go out to the garage and make some sills and hooks for some members.

Where can I take the baton? Varty - you still want it?? Lets figure something out - or I could take it back into Montana to @rkymtnflyfisher or even @3puppies

That sticker was put on in April 2017 in Tyler TX at True Vine Brewing Co.

It is cool to see this baton in Canada!

Which way is this baton heading? If I met @Awl_TEQ in northwest Montana somewhere does it need to go east or west from there?

East, back full circle would be proper. For that baton.

The briefcase is still in Chinle, AZ. with @Reznugget , I believe. That baton could go west or north, or zig zag just as long as its moving along

Hey all! Haven’t been able to work out a date to move the briefcase just yet, but as a backup plan I’m hoping I can handoff to someone at the solid axle summit later this summer! If anyone can meet within 4hr of Chinle, AZ I have a couple weekends available before that too! Just have struggled to match plans way out here!

I Believe that we have to be more proactive when finding someone to pass the batons to. I know that when I passed mine off at a Copperstate Cruisers meeting in Tucson that most of the 40 owners knew nothing about our expedition. If you are looking for a handoff it would probably be a good idea to post up in the local clubs. Personally I think you should not even look in a specific direction. If there is a forty out there that is willing to take a baton, let him/her take it in whatever direction desired. As far as I know there is no timeline or really even a finish. I know I would like to carry one again but would like to have it in fall/winter/spring instead of June. As they say this is just my rambling $.02 worth. Terry
