@John in Utah , I am planning to be in Moab area the week of 9/13 to wheel and backpack lockhart basin, are you interested in joining us, might be a few other Land Cruisers ( @CheyenneTrucker @offrd63 @Jason hansen )joining us hopefully! If @cruiseroutfit can't make the hand off I'd like to pass the briefcase baton to you. I'd love to get a group together to celebrate my 45th in style! Who's in ?

Unfortunately I can't make it that weekend but I'll be there the 1st weekend of September with a whole pile of Cruiserheads that are going from there to the LCHM offroad for the CruiserFest event. Any chance it could make it earlier?

We won't be there until the 4th, actually meeting in Green River, Utah. I do know an awesome Moab based Mud member that could take delivery on the 2nd and bring to Green River. It would then join our caravan to The LCHM in Moab.

I would really love to hand the briefcase to @cruiseroutfit , is there a chance we could meet half way? Or I suppose we could drive a little further to Green river if that would insure a classic hand off. I really want to meet @John in Utah and check out his 83 FJ40 as well, maybe a hand off convoy for a few miles and some cool photo's.
I have lined up most of my plans for the week of the 13th to celebrate my birthday...but I can show up with the briefcase on the 4th if it works out for all.

I have no problem missing the briefcase this time around, the caravan with @cruiseroutfit to SLC for cruiser fest is a much cooler ride than I could ever give.

I’ll still try to get down there that week of the 13th. I can always make an excuse to meet up with some cruiser folks.

You're coming from the south on 191 I presume?

I'll be meeting a group of ~12-15 Cruisers in Green River so I'd either need to do it earlier or meet you in Green River as I can't ask them to all drive down and back up

So... Mudders, sometimes plans change. The plan with @cruiseroutfit wasn't working smoothly with the earlier dates etc. so we are sticking to the original plan of the week of the 13th to celebrate my b-day around moab and hand the Brief case off to @John in Utah. We will be backpacking, wheeling and exploring the beautiful area, stay tuned for updates!

This 1980 FJ40 needed some attention as well...for sale and ready for a new home 79,000 original miles... @CheyenneTrucker has more info.

Glad to see the briefcase headed to Utah. BTW, if you haven't already done it, a hike/climb to the top of Cerro Pedernal is well worth it. Safe travels.

Thanks Casey, it was very cool. I enjoyed meeting @John in Utah, and backpacking 25 miles on the beginning of the Hayduke route thru Arches NP.

Combining 40s and hiking through arches was definitely a special kind of weekend.

The briefcase is officially in SLC. I’m excited to keep it trucking north/west!
