As soon as we get Western AR / Eastern TX covered! We have coverage all the way to Southern OR after that......

Our finances came in, so I think I will be available to ride along. My cruiser is not driveable, so I will have to ride with someone, or drive my pickup at the tail of the procession.

What part of Southern Oregon? I should be available most anytime as I am now officially retired. I am on the I-5 corridor in the Albany area. However, I might just be available to go to Southern Oregon. Highway 97 on the east side of the Cascades would be a slightly slower drive than I-5 (65 to 70 MPH average), and in my opinion much prettier.

I'm your Huckleberry....

My brother lives in Hooks TX and has a '79 FJ40 and I live in Tyler and have a '77. He has volunteered to meet the baton in Hot Springs and get it to me. I will deliver it to @1911 in DFW. Pretty sure both of our trucks will drive these distances but this will push us both to get some maintenance done on some neglected items.

Very nice sir. Thanks for stepping into the adventure. Looks like the Tennessee, Ark, East Texas leg is covered. You probably have a couple of months for maintenence.

That is great news! I'll be the one bringing the batons from memphis to your brother in Hot Springs. What does Sunday December 11th look like for him?

Kerry, I was hoping you'd see this thread - I've been looking for you in my old "conversations" folder trying to find your contact info, and now I found it.

@cbmontgo lives in Plano, and wants to take the baton between you and I, though I might drive east a ways just to meet you in person (finally).

He doesn't do much forum reading. He has a Mud name, @cruiserbarn , but has only posted twice. He may chime in later if he can figure out how to log in! Hahaha! He said that Sunday Dec 11 was good with him.

@Copenhagen1 did you live in St. Jo at one time?

No sir. Haven't lived in Arkansas. Been in Tyler most of my life.

Thanks Lee. I just stumbled across this thread and saw the need. Called my brother in Hooks and it didn't take much to talk him into an adventure. I am looking forward to meeting @cbmontgo and you in December.

latest route I think coming from Fl. to St. Augustine --still not for sure, but best guess now-- long haul---
ok, so i'm blocked from uploading the file---

Was just able to get the pic into a new album I made, so you can see it there.

Okay no worries. When you get a chance can you PM me @cruiserbarn email or cell number so we can coordinate our exchange?

So the "plan" for the decals was to send all to the starter and then include them in the "baton". Each participant would take ONE for their vehicle. Payment will be on the honor system, just $1.50 via PayPal (extra $0.50 to make up for the overnight shipping). This will save me the hassle of sending them out to everyone. If you want more than one, at the conclusion of the trip if there are any leftovers you could then purchase extras.

Seem reasonable? @hecrod how many participants do we have? That would at least give us a ballpark on quantity/person availability.

I ordered 100 FYI.

@ginmtb
Sent PayPal for 5 decals. Should cover my brother, myself and I am going to try to roundup a convoy to travel with.

@cbmontgo , @1911 , @Fireman , @Bripars40
Just FYI, bripars40 is tentatively scheduling a meet in Hot Springs AR on Dec 11.

Great! How far does @Bripars40 plan to drive? I live near Flower Mound, which is north of DFW Airport about 10 miles. I could meet somewhere east of town and drive to where @1911 is west of town?

I'm planning to drive from my house north of Little Rock to Memphis on Friday December 9th. I will meet @Tennessee80 on Saturday in Memphis. Then I will drive to Hot Springs either that night or early in the morning Sunday to meet @cruiserbarn. From there he is taking it to his brother, @Copenhagen1.

This is the critical leg to get it west of the Mississippi! Go @Bripars40 !!!

did a 250 mile round trip from Odessa to the deer lease today. All went well with the 69 fj40. I am good to go as far as needed when this makes its way to west Texas.

I'm hoping we're still on for the 19th of November. I just saw the new thread and @olive had some great pics and cool goods to pass along. I hope us Floridian's can send some cool stuff as well.

Do we have an updated "map" of where the batons are heading? are they taking different routes to the NW? I'm asking because I may be in Montana next summer and was wondering if they will be anywhere close. Also, where will they end up? Such a huge undertaking it would be nice to see them in the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum even if it was just a short time just to let people see how far a couple of objects can get with a little cooperation and a lot of comradery.

No doubt, I went to Australia and New Zealand on vacation back in May and June and it would've been cool to take something I could pass on to a mud member down under.

This is the latest... the green lines highlight what's already underway... the yellow what's next (more or less! :D). The two batons may take different routes, or they may stay connected. It will all depend on availability of drivers.

The two "red x's" point to the spots where we still need some coverage.

Montana? It will probably be summer time. Even if we get coverage in AR, I doubt we will be able to make good progress through the Sierras and the Northwest in the Winter.

Those of you who haven't checked the two ongoing threads... make sure to do so! They are really cool!
