with all the tight spots to paint, it was really nice to be able to brush it and the coverage was great. Going to do second coat this afternoon.

We flipped it over and prepped it and here’s after two coats of raptor. Still have one more to put down

And one programming note. I was going to raptor everything inside and out.... well after seeing how little square feet there is on a fj45 and consulting with @tornadoalleycruiser , the decision is made to paint the outside of the rig and make it pretty, but not perfect....

Done.

This is such an incredible build!
I love the weird Frankenstein of Tundra, 80 and 200 series parts and the ingenuity you're using to make it all jell. I'm looking forward to your progress.

Thank you, it feels like making the best of many worlds... No 200, the current tally is:

80 frame/axles/steering
100 tranny/transfer/tranny tunnel
4runner engine
Tundra harness
Lotus heat shield
volvo 2 stage fan
45 series tub forward sheet metal and radiator
75 series truck bed sides (from Venezuala)
79 series truck bed floor (from Canada/UAE/Japan)
T100 master cylinder

I forget what the cable throttle body came from... @Tank5 ??

Derp, sorry, I meant 200. Part numbers and chassis codes are messing with my brainpan.

Throttle body and cable are from a 2002 Tundra.

Awesome progress!

I feel lucky to have met you and to continue the project you started and accumulated the collection of parts for.

Like wise, I am happy to have passed it on to someone that will finish. You are doing good work. I hope to see it in person when you have it done.

Another amazing build, Thank you for taking the time to make these threads, it's always a joy to follow along.

Cheers

also worked on under seat storage. Got slam lock latch installed and found nice push lick as well. Did this because I was taking a bunch to Powdercoater....

So the reason I went down to the barn, was to get an extra center transmission mount that’s a little more rust than the one that came on this beautiful rust free NM car.View attachment 1879518View attachment 1879522

Little cut—grinding —welding the new plate to move the engine back about 2 1/4 inches.

Pulled the AC line off, did some bending on the power steering lines, and got down to exactly the same as the stock 80 angle!!View attachment 1879519

And now the oil filter is easily accessible....View attachment 1879521 View attachment 1879520
2fpower - What was the end result as far as your engine angle towards the rear of the vehicle? Was your final angle 2.8 degrees, as mentioned in post No. 37? If so, I'm assuming that your rear pinion flange on the transfer case is also 2.8 degrees, correct? I'm going to do a similar swap with a 2UZ in a FZJ-80 frame, and wanted to ensure that I have some solid numbers to work off of. My FZJ-80 frame has a rear pinion angle of 3.6 degrees, but I'm thinking that if I drop my engine all the way down to 3.6 degrees, then my front transfer case flange and front pinion flange angles are going to be way off. Any suggestions?

Yes, my goal was to keep the engine angle as close to stock as possible. you can always adjust your rear pinion angle on an 80 with adjustable lower control arms., but not sure it would be needed with a .8 degree angle difference.
