WOW that's going to be a great looking engine color combination!

Little background to alleviate ocular hemorrhaging reading through this thread.

This is a bastardized engine, unlike any I've seen built....because I'm stupid and ideological....minus the logical.

Original, early 2F block.
Late 2F pistons and internals
Late 2F/3F head
3F manifolds and carb

All that with late 2F ignition/ distribution and 3FE peripherals...in front of an H55/split case.

The Pig was and will return to Freeborn Red so, considering the genealogical DNA of the engine, felt the "red head" fit perfectly.

Don't know what valve cover/intake is going to work, yet, but had considered painting the "2F" the same red, everything else painted with the black epoxy primer, this after contemplating an advanced algorithm to add to the valve cover, like

-2F+2.5F+3F+3FE= 2.95F(e)

to paint similarly.

Think I'll keep it simple.

Robbie needs a shop helper to clean that place up!!

I won't cast any stones, since living in a single pane glass house.

Hahaha.

I think there's Johnny Cash song in there somewhere. :hmm:

Bahahahahahaha.

There's a whole freaking lot of cash in there that I wish had been Johhny's.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! that was funny!

Chris, just stumbled over to the 55 section....and found this thread... You're going to need a bigger lot to park your ever growing collection...
Looks great...
Don't know if you have completed the power steering but when IPOR did my PS Lance used the 60 and sleeved the frame...as Ryan mentioned.
Make for a pretty simple setup

No doubt.

Not sure how I'll house all, even after culling the FJC.

Looks great...

Thanks!

As you're aware, Lou, I tend to get confused on "builds", often allowing idealism to trump realism, only realizing retrospectively. This '76 highlights that fact.

Anyhow, steering is figured out, using the mini truck box and IPOR mount.

In retrospect and due to intended purpose, I'd have been better with 60 steering and axles.

From Cruiser Innovations build thread and posting for future reference, potentially discussion.

Like how it looks like an 80 and trying to think how it would look to mimic this, with Freeborn all the way to the gutter and white roof.

Not a resto ( just wait until you see the turn signals I'm planning. Gonna be tied to the stake an burnt....but they seem to fit.) and think it might look cool, still classic Cruiser.

Mmmmmm...shaved ham. :)

It is a higher gloss than anticipated, but the claim is it'll continue to cure for several weeks, lessening the gloss.

As long as it's durable and consistent, I'll be good.

What kind of paint you use? Looks really goof

It's a two part epoxy primer from Southern Polyurethanes.

When researching, a lot of restorers and painters claimed the a finished product for applications similar, since exposure to UV is very limited, superior adhesion to steel, and very durable.

The company appears a family business and after describing the intended surfaces, they reiterated what I'd read.

Owner listed his mobile number on website to call with any questions or concerns, which sold me on customer service.
