If you like the look of those wheels I suggest going on the hunt for real Alcoa forged 6 lugs.

I think in the 15" version they were Mickey Thompson by Alcoa

I've been looking for, but haven't seen in the 15". Almost bought 16s in classifieds, but don't think they'd look right with 33s.

Who knows the accuracy, considering the source, but it was said those currently on it have been since the late 80s, which is kind of nostalgic and reason for keeping the style.

Well be forewarned that the new Mickey Thompsons are not even close to the same quality wheel the old Alcoa's were. The old rebadged Mickey Thompsons were made in the USA forged wheels by Alcoa, the new Classic II and Classic III's are made in China and are cast aluminum and by all reports are crap. But since you like the elusive parts search, figured you might want to add something to your treasure hunt. ;)

Chris, I had carpal tunnel in my right hand. If its both whatever you do don't let them do both at same time. Guy I worked with had both at same time, wife had to wipe his ASS:flush:. And got locked out 1 morning in bathrobe getting newspaper.:):D

Thanks Bob.

My wife's response to a similar situation would be along the lines of "better install a bidet and no I won't do THAT daily, either.."

Been fine the last few days. I think a combo of the first real heat, dehydration, and a cramped area to contort in played a role.

I know it's heretical to most, but even on these newer FJCs, I try to have all new fasteners, for whatever the task, on hand or spending a few minutes cleaning since the rust creep can cause a fight. We should've had for this or cleaned, because getting them started was what sealed my fate.

Customs handiwork.

Not sure if it was their disassembly, or their tossing it in a box with the massive amount of bubble wrap that previously encased it, that did it in.

Going to pull apart and hope the face is screwed, not riveted to the body.

Edited:

They are screws, fortunately finding one.

Cracked a light housing, too.

This will mark the tenth or eleventh Pig I've ever laid eyes on, spotted off 169 between Owasso and Collinsville.

Not a part of the area that one goes door knocking on a Tuesday morning, but will return to get the scoop on.

Circled around the front of the property and it is a '69, noted by the grille.

Valve cover options.

Personally prefer the TEQ OE, early, which fits the head and rocker assembly.

Unsure if the OE cleaner is going to work, though.

If using the later, like to find a way to add a "+" to it.

I think the TEQ is the way to go ....

For the record and posterity:

Early 2F rocker shaft supports are +3/4".

Late 2F/3F/3FE rocker shaft supports are >5/8".

Springs are too long, as well.

Holy Cow - a blind squirrel HAS to find a nut every once in a while...
