It’s obviously a magazine rack, sheesh.
I mean, not the exact intention, but I could see that being an “off label” use certainly.

I will post this in the 40 forum as well, but I’m going to stick it here to keep all my stuff in one place…

40 Series dome light bracket::

I think l these were around circa 1966 until 1973. I have two of them in my 1969 40. Do all the brackets look like this? Both of mine are trash. Is there any demand for me to make a run of these?

The originals are stamped, with a lip around the perimeter. If I did these they would be a simple piece of bent metal - not concourse-grade, but functional. Better than nothing, right? This would ONLY be the bracket: the metal bulb holder would need to be brought over. City Racer already repops the lens.

40 owners: what do you think?

Needs correction, that’s how it goes. Pretty close though. More to come…

Hi all. Just a quick FYI:

I will be leaving for Moab Tuesday and returning Sunday. Feel free to order during that time but please know that I will not ship until the following week, starting Monday 10/28. If you have an imperative order please get that to me today or tomorrow. It’s a good idea to drop me a PM or email if it’s urgent, but that goes for any time you have an urgent order.

Matt, I don’t know how I missed your message above! Thanks my friend!

Happy 2023 y’all! A new shipment of Koito Headlight Upgrade Kits arrived to Casa de Trash and is ready to be shipped out to YOU. Yeah you, the 60 owner with those weak old sealed beams who’s afraid to drive at night because the headlights barely illuminate your path. This is TOYOTA part number 81110-60P70, straight OEM goodness. The classic super-affordable, 30-minute install upgrade that gets you modern lighting, quality Koito glass, and the ability to replace H4 bulbs to your heart’s content.

Get ‘em HERE and don’t forget the HBIM that will enable your high beam indicator to function too.

I got a set of these, (gift from our old friend @Beno) replaced the bulbs with my 24v units and they are great. I must admit.

Can’t be beat for the money. Aside from all the possible Toyota applications, vintage Porsche, VW, and Mercedes folks use them too.

Still in Moab, havin’ fun.

Orders start shipping Monday!

Quick shoutout to CTP, I've got the LED Flasher relay for my FJ62.

I was under the impression it was going to be easy to find an LED Flasher like my 1994 Pickup but I said screw it, CTP just released the LED Flasher Relay and it works great.

Sent the original back to him for core charge

Second this! Plug and play. Quality product. :)

Alright, here it is: 60 Series fire extinguisher bracket.

“But Jim, that’s been done before!”

You’re right … sort of. A couple folks have tried their hand at this over the years, with at least one having completely incorrect fitment to the point that I had to give it away to somebody else who was going to attempt modifications to make it work. Currently I believe this isn’t a solution that’s being made.

What else? Instead of just over engineering the attachment with bulky holsters that come with fire extinguishers I kept it simply and fast: these will ship with buckle straps. One touch and the strap falls away. I’ve also designed a junk drawer into the bottom for quick-grab tools. Don’t put so many tools in there that it could interfere with getting the extinguisher in an emergency, but a couple screwdrivers for tuning the carb will be fine. Heck, your wallet or house keys could drop in there too.

This is a prototype and needs a few things yet. I need a different buckle strap as well. With that being said I have some questions:

Offer this unfinished and without the corners of the “junk drawer” welded up?

Offer it unfinished with the corners welded up?

Offer it powder coated black with corners either welded or not?

Welding and powder coating will add cost. Welding the corners isn’t 100% necessary as the steel is thick enough to hold it’s shape, however it arguably looks nicer. I would say the range would be $90-125. That’s highly subject to change.

Please weigh in below!

That’s pretty slick Holmes.
I’d see what the whole enchilada would run (welded and pc’d) though I’d probably opt for the base model shown here.

Post up a wider shot to better illustrate where this is.

Just the person I wanted to hear from haha! You’re illustrating my point in that I think folks would probably opt for the “base model” to save some dollars over buying the deluxe bling version that costs more. I think producing both variants is not the best use of my resources.

Pardon the filthy truck. We haven’t cleaned it since we got back from the Moab trip so there’s sand and dog fur all over.

Floor mat can go under or in front of the bracket.

Yeah man, that is a clever idea.
Good job.
Thanks. Can’t say I’m the first to come up with the idea, for Cruisers or otherwise. I might be the first to actually make sure it fits before shipping it though haha. I have to say if I powder coat it, it would be nice to laser etch a small “CTP” logo in it - I know where you stand on that! 😉

Anyone else? Stripped down version or make it look sharp with welding and powder coat?
