Yes indeed!

Not much today but I moved back over to the engine. Replaced the 4 smaller freeze plugs behind the lifter cover and installed the rear freeze plug. installed the lifter cover with a new gasket and torqued the bolts to the hilariously light 35 in-lbs.

Waiting on motor mounts and then I can figure out the rear crossmember. So it will have to come out again, but it is pretty exciting nonetheless!

Looks great!!!
When do you think you'll be up and running?

I almost spit beer all over my phone! No time soon is the realistic answer. I am hoping by June... But by saying that, I fear I am setting myself up for failure. To many things to do still, not enough time and no funding to make it happen fast.

let the funding issue force you to spend the time you need to...all things on time.

my attitude? you don't know me... I speak from clear hindsight:doh: #stillhaven'tinstalledBobMsfenderpatches

Find a 3-piece cross member off an early FJ60 (make sure to grab the tranny mount too), burn in the L brackets and trim and re-drill the center section ;)

Tucker
I have the cross member and trans mount out of my fj60 parts rig and that is what I am planning on using. By "burn the L brackets" are you suggesting I weld it to the frame? I was thinking about sleeving the frame and bolting the l brackets on... Any reason not to?

Nope ... would be easier to remove too. Just harder to do :( I found there was enough room to lift it off the brackets so welded them ...

Tucker
Good tip! This is just the kind of info I was hoping someone that had already done this would have. I will try to document exactly what I do as far as the crossmember for those needing that info...

I sleeved the frame with DOM tubing, but made my own goofy crossmember. Mine came out right at the spot on the frame where it starts to flare out. Should of just used a 60 crossmember like you guys.
