Yes indeed!Always a good feeling to be able to check something off the list!
Yes. I need to figure out the rear cross member then pull the motor and trans to do any welding. Then paint the frame and deal with some body rust...Good Job! Are you going to pull back out to paint? What's next?
I almost spit beer all over my phone! No time soon is the realistic answer. I am hoping by June... But by saying that, I fear I am setting myself up for failure. To many things to do still, not enough time and no funding to make it happen fast.Looks great!!!
When do you think you'll be up and running?
I like your attitude. It will be road worthy in the next year, I'll commit to that.let the funding issue force you to spend the time you need to...all things on time.
Find a 3-piece cross member off an early FJ60 (make sure to grab the tranny mount too), burn in the L brackets and trim and re-drill the center sectionYes. I have the cross member and trans mount out of my fj60 parts rig and that is what I am planning on using. By "burn the L brackets" are you suggesting I weld it to the frame? I was thinking about sleeving the frame and bolting the l brackets on... Any reason not to?Find a 3-piece cross member off an early FJ60 (make sure to grab the tranny mount too), burn in the L brackets and trim and re-drill the center section

Nope ... would be easier to remove too. Just harder to doAny reason not to?
Good tip! This is just the kind of info I was hoping someone that had already done this would have. I will try to document exactly what I do as far as the crossmember for those needing that info...Nope ... would be easier to remove too. Just harder to doI found there was enough room to lift it off the brackets so welded them ...
