A little side by side comparison.

Project Snowball is rapidly closing in on the one year mark. This was my first vehicle project and have definitely have learned a lot... still have much to learn. This project would not have happened without the space available at our family business. I can’t thank my dad enough for allowing me to take up a shop bay for a year. He has always been an inspiration for his hard work and attention to detail. I’ve learned many of my skills from my old man and am truely greatful.
I’d also want to thank my buddy Jeremy, without him the diesel aspect of the project would have still been just a dream. Jeremy has been there since we picked up 4BT stepvan. I’m very thankful to have a friend who spent time with me to get the motor and transmission part of the job complete. He is very knowledgeable in the Cummins world.
A big thanks to Mike @boots4 for his help on the SOA part of the project. Ive enjoyed working along side Mike and have learned by far the most from him. He is a mathotical genius with these types of builds. I took my skills and sharpened them 100 fold during the past couple months on the SOA build. I’ve learned how to better envision and see the project come together before it starts. Mike has become a great friend which is not what I expected when starting on IH8MUD. He is definitely brilliant when it comes to thinking things through.
The crossmember was built for the 4BT earlier this year and was not very well done. Late last night it was the last thing to do in order to get the weight on the axles so I could let the driveline shop know the measurements. After an already long day we pressed on and started the crossmember. It was great to actually see the thought process. We both put in our ideas and had a crossmember installed in a few hours. Setting the 60 down on the axles for the first time in a few months was awesome. We both sat looking at what we had just built in awe. It was a great feeling.
This build was more than just a build. I learned new techniques and mechanical knowledge I never had before. I’ve work along side great people and am thankful for them being a part of my life.
I’m very thankful for my wife as she put up with my time away to get this thing built. Even though she’s been calling it “my other women” I hope once it’s taking us into awesome backcountry she will see Snowball for who he is.
Another big thanks to followers on this build thread who help encourage along the way. It’s great to be able to share my life story and get to know some of you. Perhaps someday I’ll meet some of you and get to see your 60. Thanks for the posts and helping along the way! Cheers Jason

Drivelines are at the shop but won’t be finished until New Years week... owe well that gives me some much needed family time. In the mean time I need to order shocks and wheel spacers for the front. Also 4wheelparts has sent me the wrong lug nuts twice for the Hutchinson beadlocks. Need to call them and get this straightened out.
The flange to flange measurement for the drivelines are rear 41-1/2”

front 33-3/8”

where the 60 is sitting now at ride height. Ken at 6 states was figuring to give the drivelines an inch of play. Anybody have advice for more, I’d like to let him know this morning.

Just spoke to 4WP’s and they said the lug nuts for the Hutchinson beadlocks are made specifically by them... hmmm... you think when I bought them they would have known that. Unfortunate Hutchinson is closed until New Years week, so it won’t get straightened out until then.

Those tires on there are 37’s? Those are either small 37’s or really big 265/75’s!!

Took weekend off from the SOA. Planning on another day this Saturday. In the meantime some work shots today from digging out wellhead with excavator and stick welding on well casing to bring it above surface.

Yes I run them on my Cummins and IH7.3. They are a bitch to get on compared to my previous Gates but once worn in I have had no issues taking them off and on with ease. They seem very well made.
