Sunday fun day. Cut and fitted some thick felt I had from the seat project, put the mats back on too. My hands will e sore for a few days from attempting to cut the felt with less than adequate scissors . Sure feels nice to have a decent seat in there. Next up: the rest of the doors and cargo sound deadening and new panels installed!

Have a good week fellas!

Its a wrap.! Wrapped my steering wheel w/ leather purchased on Amazon. Adjusted the driver door hinges so now the door shuts w/ the new rubber .
Flushed the radiator, rear heater and engine block, rear heater works and seems to run a bit cooler now:cool:.

Next up: The dual seal and e-brake shoes from Cruiser Bros :) .

Strong work!

Shipping address so I can send my wheel in for service?

After feeling great about the latest repair I was feeling pretty confident so I asked my wife to go for an Mtn ride then I loaded the bikes and, when she came home , she looked pretty surprised that the Pig had the bikes in the back. I assured her that its running well and it will be fine.
That said, it is a 6 mile trip on the freeway.. . Great ride but on the way home she started sputtering before we got on the freeway . pulled over and I checked a vac hose to a gauge that came loose the day before but that and looked fine. Revved her up a bit and seemed like all was ok....Well, she wasn't. She started sputtering again as we got back on the freeway so I pulled off and thankfully i made it into an O'Reilly's auto parking lot.

The good news is my wife likes that the pig doesn't go fast but now lacks some trust... Got back home w/o hassle. Seems to be fuel related so I did the hand over the carb while revving thing and seemed to do the trick but still not convinced there isn't something else going on. Maybe change the downstream fuel filter for starters.

Lots of fuel system issues on these, the tanks seem to be a problem often…let us know what you find.

Definitely. I've already gone through the tank, lines , fuel pump and carb. Sight glass on the carb showed 1/2 full too. I'll start w the filters(cheapest)...

Lots of breaking down FJ55’s lately…. or is just the normal amount?🫤

If it’s any consolation, I saw two Dent-side Fords broke down last week - one being pushed by three guys with the owner sitting in the driver seat, and another being towed home with a tow strap.

Not always true. My old Ford F350 and F250 ranch trucks have been beasts and I loved my ‘04 F150. Rancher friend up in NW Colorado says “Fords for work. Chevy for the road.”

The down stream fuel filter had a bunch of :poop: in it. I swapped it out and the fuel is now flowing but, the idle channel in the carb is def clogged.

Since the rest of the carb was clean it ran decently. I have not successfully unclogged it even with the rebuild and because if that the mixture nor the idle screw adjusts the idle. One step fwd & two steps back :(

I don’t know much about pigs and one slipped thru my fingers today for over $70,000.00 😳 but that looks like the same fuel filter I have on my riding lawn mower. Almost every Pre-85 Land Cruiser filter I have seen is either metal or plastic but definitely twice the size

Again this is the initial filter, there's another that is bigger and closer to the FP.

We have 3 gas stations in town, 1 sells 93 octane (66 Ford.) And also sells diesel for tractor. Out of convienance I filled 1 tank in 79 ford started running like 💩 almost right away. Same happened with 66, had to adjust carb just to keep it running. Point is dont buy gas there anymore and haven't had a problem since.🧐🤔🙂
