You didn't ask me, but I am answering. 😉

I used Dorman 905-612 but I could have used a shorter version as I routed the cable towards the back from the shifter and then back to the transmission shifter. I did modify the shifter arm on the toyota shifter. This is required to get the right distance throw at each gear position.

Most others route the cable forward and then back to the 6l80e in a S configuration. This requires a longer cable and the cable is in a push configuration, rather than a pull configuration.

Thanks for your help.
From reading through the swap thread most people are using the gen3 an 4speed auto. Wasn't sure if the same cable could be used on the 6L80.

Thanks to Tinker! Got the pot installed on the shifter. I used a countersunk Phillips and a small 1/4 high torque nut. Along with a recessed “domed” washer that fit perfect. Was in my hardware him from my days as an aircraft mechanic. Worked great!!

With no ABS module taking the space, I put mine on the right end. Great methods here and from others posts. Just sharing another possible location.

Used a cable from a Trailblazer and routed it in an "S" configuration as described by others. It required a bracket to be fabbed up at the shifter end and the linkage arm needed to be flipped upside down on the trans. Took a bit of sorting out to get the throws close and it still wasn't perfect. Had my eye on the Zero Gavity push button set up before I sold the truck, but they sure are spendy.
 
The OG dude of LS swaps is selling a full mechanical linkage for shifting the 6L80. He is in Australia.

My install, with a cut and angled Toyota Transmission lever, works great. The angle, relative to where you mount the cable, is critical because it changes the throw for each gear position. P->R is much longer than R-> N, N ->D, etc. Remember, the transmission cable end is adjustable on the Trailblazer SS cable.

Zared Fox Automotive out of Australia.

It appears to be a cable setup for an 80 series to 6L80/90e, not hard linkage. $420AUS This is the first time I have seen it and I would love to see it installed and working. He appears to change the angle the cable attaches to the transmission, which is smart. I changed the angle at the transmission shifter to accomplish the same thing. I assume he got the angle and shift distances right.

Header Question
My newly built 2UZ is shipping tomorrow from XAT Racing and I would love to run headers. Anyone in this group with a 2UZ swap running headers? I know there are a few companies who make headers for the 2UZ but will they work in the 80 engine bay?

I used a set of Doug Thorley headers for a 2006 VVTI 2uz. I deleted the SAI on the engine, so cut the associated tubes off the headers. I don’t have any issue with them fitting. I have not driven it yet but the exhaust clears everything, so don’t expect any issues.

I used a set of Doug Thorley headers for a 2000 Land Cruiser on a 2uz installed in a 40 series frame. I had to cut one tube and realign it to clear the steering linkage. Not sure if that would be an issue in an 80.

Do you know why the early LC has a big loop on the LF cylinder and the VVT ones dont? I was thinking on using non VVT 4runner ones since Im bypassing air injection and would probably have to cut the flange off to make the exhaust fit anyways

I am not sure why the non VVTI version have that loop. I think you could make either version work. I have not looked at how they fit in a 4runner though, so am unaware of the challenges.
 
I have a perfectly good 99 lx470 I got years ago for less than $7k. 242k miles. What would it cost to swap that into a 94 very clean 80 series with a blown engine??
