Owe you a beer, at least.

Saved me a trip to the shop, across Tulsa, to replicate this

image-2843864411.jpg

Or to Sears to buy another of these.

Because this (yea, that's sweat. My bloody hands coagulated an hour ago)

image-2688005136.jpg

Took three minutes. (y pipe studs)

Blink, why did we not think of a pipe wrench?

Regardless, 4oz worth of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Pretty, in a mechanical sort of way.

Never would've thought I'd use such unconventional tools (sawzall and pipe wrench) to accomplish.

By the way, I'd give my left nut for a 97 LX FSM hard copy. I have embraced the technology in all aspects, but would prefer the memento of a greasy paged FSM, opposed to greasy laptop keys. (would pay cash for FSM. Don't have to take the nut. Have to ask my wife for, anyway. Haha).

Off to find torque specs so I can, at least, get the manifolds back on. Finish the rest this weekend.

Finished the EMS install.....sort of.

Can't seem to figure out why, but having an issue at the clamped joint. It seems to shift, creating a leak, regardless of alignment prior to driving.

image-2811727555.jpg

Two other causes for concern, I know one of which has been presented to baktash.

First, the O2 sensor is precariously placed in the debris field and not so sure it won't encounter the tires, stuffed and locked.

image-2701634728.jpg

Second, the rear heater hose seems awfully close to not be protected. I intend to shield at the same time as wrapping the O2 sensor harness that appear to be in danger of premature aging.

The exit wasn't as ordered, but due to other circumstances at EMS, I didn't order stainless and received, so can't complain. Will be chopping the tip off, soon, and tucking.

It may be from the leak, but it's sounds ricey, for lack of a better term. Have the tucked cat and resonator, and it's still a little loud, even with the deadener.

Which I'm not a fan of, in all honesty.

I can appreciate the stainless for all but the tip, if it'll weather time better than the rusty OE I removed.

Bet she lost ten pounds of rust in the driveway.

Picked up a 20lb Powertank with high flow regulator, 50' of hose, and a couple of bags for storage

Have talked to Noah at Wagonracks for about two months, trying to determine how to mount the tank, spare, and incorporate a partition, and no closer on a decision.

Had intended on mounting spare PS for weight distribution, even though it cuts down on vision, and tank DS, but the rear DS window doesn't function (assuming for cell antenna) and having access to tank through the slider was the reason a 20lb sounded feasible.

Still deciding.

Bought all through Sean at Pandora Adventures. Wheeled with him once at Superlift and a couple of buddies have had him build expedition trailers (only way to go, in my opinion. Keep rig light, trailer's the beast of burden).

An FJC member here on Mud has been on one of the excursions he led, and sounds like a good time.

I may have missed it but what are your plans for that giant spare tire? Tire smell bad inside?

Only when it's 105 degrees.

Planning on standing on the PS by the wheel well. If the stench of rubber is too much, may get a cover.

I have my spare mounted vertically on the DS inside. Doesn't seem to affect weight or lean...but I only run 285 Duratracs.

The smell isn't terrible unless the tire is brand new. I'm on a five tire rotation so the one inside has about 7-8k miles on it. It doesn't smell nearly as strong as the brand new tire that was in there before. Leaving a window cracked when it is hot/sunny outside is important, though.

They were new and it was literally +110 degrees, so maybe a non-issue, in the long run.

I'm a fan of five tire rotation, so I'll have my sniffer prepared once I swap.

Good news on not exacerbating the DS lean. Having ran the Flexy coils, I have an obvious rake that I don't like, so loading more on the arse end may help with, or I'll swap the rear coils and offer these for sale.

Going to explore mounting options for the Powertank on the PS, now.

(Sorry, Noah).

I like the design. Not a fan of the strap, but be worth consideration (no offense Tool's) due to rolling it right out the back.

Not sure whose this pic is from, but considering a combination between Tool's and this.

Incorporate a forward "cage"(?) similar to the first pic, in the event of a crash landing. At least it'd keep it from pummeling forward.

I don't have any aversion to drilling the floor.

Should I have?

The second one appears to bolt into factory holes on the wheel well and floor... Not sure it would go anywhere in a accident and you won't have to drill the floor..

Good location for stud storage, as well.

Need to give consideration to DS mount, since part of the reason for 86ing Noah's barrier was sight considerations for the wife.

Would be occasional (when the GX is at the Lexus spa) that she'd drive, but without the sensors, don't want to make it any more difficult than it has to be.

Personally have grown accustomed to not using a rear view since the F350 with 460k didn't have until recently, and the FJC's is stupid, but any minimization for possible excuses when the "close your eyes and hope nothing bad happens" philosophy is utilized, is prudent.

For that matter, wish I could lock reverse altogether, on those days. Hahaha. (sorry, baby).

Exactly. I made this one based on a magazine article I saw. It uses the 3rd row seat bracket (coincidentally, a spare I purchased from the same Noah whose barrier Delancy mentioned) and also bolts into the factory holes from the 3rd row seat floor brackets. No drilling necessary and very solid. I sold this when I purchased my 4x4 Labs bumper with swing out.
