i want to build for the fj80 some protection, for the transfer and the gear case.
i searched the forum but no luck so far. Are there any plates with dimentions posted?
thx

@TRAIL TAILOR
Has some nice ones.

There is a weld together kit from huddexpo

If you’re determined to build your own get some cardboard and make a template. Unless you have free steel plate, welding supplies and fab equipment you’re better off getting one from our vendors. YMMV

The @Delta VS skid has the most coverage for an 80 skid.

Protection is the most salient feature of any skid plate≥ That said, keep in mind servicing when you design things. You don't want to have to drop the plate for ordinary maintenance activities, like draining and filling oil, etc.

Our design has a separate skid plate and cross member, so if you need to add low range gears you have way more access than oem. Holes in all the right places for draining, etc.

It also looks to hang down lower then most !

If anything it’s the lowest profile one commercially available.
The cruising offroad skid has just as much coverage and a much lower profile and is now made by trail tailor.
Just saying 😎
Yours hangs down to the bottom of the control arm frame mounts. Inches lower.
