Nice work Jimmy. I did the same odometer rollback on my 40 several years ago. Easier to keep track of actual use on a fresh build.
I also hung our banner in the barn today. 40 is still covered in SAS dirt.

Bad news Casey is this means @mcguirejohnson will need to earn a banner for each year :). Can't have any gaps along the wall. And I agree on the odometer.

I don't post much on here but, dang I thought I was one of the few 60's in Lubbock! Very cool to see other cruiser guys around here.

update. Slowly getting motivated again. Washed it. Fixed the speedo drive gear. Also set the mileage to 3300 which is what I estimated to have on the set up.

And put a new pinion seal in the rear diff. Actually looks like it's leaking after a test drive but I can't recall if I wiped the oil off when I pulled the old seal. Oh well. Will figure that one out pretty quick . Will slowly work on the punch list.

@ceylonfj40nut Chamindra (CD) stopped by today to help figure out the AC on my truck. He's got all the good tools (vac and gauges) so he helped out with my sons 60 as well. Was primarily a good lesson in how to and what to look for. Still some more trouble shooting to do. Pressures are getting close to 40 and over there 200 (2.5 cans). Temp still does not get lower than 60. Roma has given some good feedback around heater interference. Gonna try a few things tomorrow to pin point it or eliminate it. For some reason my gut tells me I got a bad compressor from Rock auto. Hope to know more soon.

We are close to narrowing this down Jim. Good that we could rule out a few areas we had questions about. I think you are on the final turn. Curious about your last tests this coming week. Hang in there. As always you have a fantastic "roll up your sleeves and get her done" attitude. Gets you over any mountain. Hanging out in your barn and wrenching was a blast.

I LOVE CHROME FACTORY WAGONS !
I do agree. I have an old school arb front and a swing out rear and can’t bring myself to put those on it. However I did hit a deer a few weeks back and now have to figure something out with the bumper. Going to see if I can straighten it out. If not I have another straight one with some old style KC lights bolted to it. Kinda want to run that one anyways. Also, check out the hair from the deers hind end stuckbinbthe corner bezel :)

Close call. But then again with your mad body skills, you don’t have to worry even if deer did more. Lol. Chrome it all day long. Looks sharp.

Been a while since I’ve updated this thread. Always hate doing retro work. In other words something I should have done while I was building the truck. Short version is I’ve never partied the truck outside until a few weeks ago when we had a ton of rain. Found the wet carpet deal and turns out I’m leaking on the side of the cowl :(. So off with the fenders (really hate working backwards) and cleaned out the joints. Will hit them with some seam sealer.

Argh! I hate it when stuff like that happens too. If nothing else the the risk of scratching fresh paint.

Why are putting lockers in this 60? I would think you have enough parts around you could put together more of a rougher trail-oriented 60. That black 61 already has the axles under it, just insert a 2F or 3FE in that :)

Matt, it’s a miracle that 62 stands on all 4 tires. Not sure I’ve seen a more rusted 60. Ryan has some great pics from where he pulled painted fiberglass, tape and bondo from the rockers. The extent of work someone went through in Japan is crazy.
