Is there any OEM replacement still available for the EFI relay? Or any compatible ones from other Toyota vehicles?
I think the P/N is 85912-60010, but would love an expert to fact check me. Has anyone tried an aftermarket one with any luck?

I wired in a standard 40 amp relay.

Me too, back when I still had my 3FE FJ80. Fixed all of my hot-start problems.

The part number is 85915-60010, they are not available new though. I haven't tried this but I *think* 85915-60030 (the ECU relay from LJ/KZJ Prado's) would work as an OEM replacement. I put one on order to test out, the mounting tab is a different angle but the connector and wires look the same in pictures. We had a KZJ78 at the shop this week and I could have looked at the one on it to compare but unfortunately it just got picked up and went home this morning :(

Wait a sec… how does this fit in the circuit compared to what’s referred to as the “main efi relay” here, which looks like it’s in the relay box:

That thread is in the 80 section. Are you working on a FJ62 or a FJ80? They are pretty different vehicles despite having the same engine.

I am working on my FJ62 with the 3FE. I was (erroneously?) assuming the main EFI relays (place, specs, wiring) would be the exact same.

When you get a chance to test it let us know! Looks quite similar!

I'd have to look in the FSM to see if it's a SPDT or a SPST relay, but it wouldn't be difficult at all to convert to a standard 40A Bosch/Tyco relay.

If what @cruisermatt found works as an OEM replacement, I'd go with that (because OEM), but if not, it wouldn't be hard to find a solution and post a write-up on accomplishing it.

Finally got a 85915-60030 in my hands, looks like this will be a slam dunk as a new OE bolt in-replacement. We have a 62 here getting some work done and will test and confirm tomorrow. Will start stocking them if it works out!

They aren’t cheap but only cost a bit more then the time and materials recquired to make a new subharness with universal 4-pin relay, one could always DIY that with their old one for a trail spare though.

Excellent @cruisermatt !! Thank you for finding this for the 3FE owners :D

Nice find. They look to be pinned the same and have 15A rated contacts.

Matt,
Please put me down for one if it checks out. I will add it to my glove box back up right next to the minty fresh fusible link.
Ty!

Confirmed fit and function, bolt tab isn’t 100% but it works.

Ignore the stupid speaker cable and aluminum tape everywhere.
