Not yo momma’s 80-series

Incredible work as always Ian. Can’t wait to see this thing in its final form!

I can't get over that paint. It's spectacular.

We’ll get ready to drool!! I took a bunch of pictures at the end of the day after we washed it. Pics inbound now!

Cheers

I will admit I am not a big fan of red, however I really like this color! I think it looks fantastic on this Cruiser and as you can see in some of the pics it changes a lot depending on the light.

That's... outstanding.

Just drove it a few blocks, “power tune” selected on the Unichip. This Cruiser has way more power now with the Unichip.

That paint... 👀

We took it down to the fairgrounds and on the street at the end of today for a quick test run.

3,200-3,400rpm shifts here.

That has an eco mode as well, correct? The idea that one could have that much power available and still be able to switch modes and sip fuel on road trips is pretty attractive.

Yes that is correct. Customers are reporting a solid 18mpg in eco under various conditions at high elevation too. This is with 225-250hp vs the 300-350 in the most powerful tune. Eco is also still running 16-18psi which is lowest boost with the auto boost controller. Power tune is 30psi.

The FTE honestly is not very impressive in stock form, rated around 150hp and 285ftlbs iirc. We are seeing upwards of 600ftlbs in the power tune, we had 535 as I recall on the last dyno run. To the wheels. 😋🤌

They even offer a “immobilizer” tune which will not allow the engine to start. There are other tunes outside the standard five as well, I have seen the “roaring dragon” tune. It’s funny and a just for fun tune.

Unichips can be tuned and loaded with whatever map a person wants. We just don’t have the software and dyno available here in the US. At least I don’t have a source locally. The five standard are more than enough for 98% of people.

I drove this truck 50ish miles round trip to the interior shop on Tuesday afternoon. It was mostly interstate, but man it was fun to drive. I honestly think it cruises better at 75 mph than my 200 series. I have 7 road-going vehicles and I can't remember the last time I was so pleased driving one of them as this FTE-powered 80. I'm still thinking about it 2 days later.

Ha!

That’s what we like to hear. It will be even better all dialed in and done. 😉

Cheers
