I did. That thread inspired me to do the same, but Jomelo happened to be ready to sell that truck when I was looking for a clean FZJ80 to convert. @SNLC is almost done with round 2 on that truck; paint, interior, gears, cruise control and some other little upgrades.

@jomelo still posts on here occasionally, so he could probably give the best answer.
When I bought the HDJ80 from him a few years ago, he had a bunch of Cruisers at home, plus at least a couple of other Cruisers being built at the time. Between running out of room in his shop and not being able to drive them all, he was getting rid of some. Given the number of builds he had done and had going, it seemed like he enjoyed the build process.
He was great to deal with and doesn’t cut corners on his builds, so I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a vehicle from him again.
@Mag71k5 I had a lot of cruisers at that time and just acquired a larger farm. Between various Land Cruiser builds, and building the infrastructure for the new farm, I decided I need to slim down my Land Cruisers. The red 80 was fantastic but I do not believe I would have used that truck for its intended purpose. I was also almost done with a 79 series truck that had the same drivetrain as the 80 and the truck was so much more useful for the farm. I’ve since sold a few 40’s, a 45 and a 100 series - puts me back to a manageable five Land Cruisers.
I do miss that 80 series from time to time.

May get some hate for this, but whatever. Sourcing the correct hard fuel lines has been a battle, bending others have just frustrated me.
10an/6an steel braided PTFE is what im going to use, all the way from the tank, minus the terminated sections at the tank and diesel fuel filter assembly. The ends will be male barbs so I can use rubber lines to the fuel sender assembly, and fuel filter, PTFE doesnt work well with hose clamps.
Something else that's hard to source, clutch hard lines, so im using a steel braided soft line. It's generic toyota, probably able to use it on every make and model. The fittings seem well made, and thread in to both the master and slave cylinder correctly.
This is not to put dave4x4 on blast, but he was working an order with most of the factory parts to make all this work for a few weeks but I haven't heard back, hopefully he's still able to get my order out at some point.
My new goal after getting pushed back a few days is to have the engine and trans in the 80 by Tuesday.

Dave 4x4 got back to me! Stuff should be shipped September 2nd! It was pretty much all my fault, I didnt realize I had to approve parts via spreadsheet. Thats on me not paying attention during the emails back and forth

Holy s***, what a nightmare, from the lift being s***, chains being too short, load leveler falling apart, transmission shifter assembly ****ing up my tub.

We're back at it! Goals for today, mount transfercase, run fuel lines, run clutch line, order driveshafts.
Tomorrow, figure out power steering lines, PDI intercooler.
From there we'll start working engine/body harness.

Evil Energy Steel braided PTFE lines. The 90 degree turn is tank side, these lines are seriously tough it seems. Gotta cut them with an angle grinder.

For anyone curious,
How to cut steel braided PTFE,
1. Mark length
2. Tape ends with electric tape about an inch and half from the end or where you want to cut, 2 wraps will do. This is to keep the ends from fraying. If the ends fray, start over. You'll never get the line into the fitting.
3. Secure hose lightly in a vice or by some other means.
4. Cut with an angle grinder and cut off wheel.
5. Twist hose counter-clockwise, fitting clockwise, while pushing the hose into the fitting.
6. Make sure the hose is basically bottomed out into the fitting.
7. Pick which end you want, 90, straight, etc. Tighten into the fitting you pressed the hose into. Just make sure the hose stays in place and doesn't push out. I mark mine with a marker below the fitting you push the hose into.
These are rated for 625psi working pressure, and -22f to 248f temperature.

Progress, clutch bled, seems to be holding good pressure, surprised at how light of a clutch it is. Used to old manual Chevys lol.
Heater hoses done, bypassed rear heater for the time being, ordered new heater T's
Power steering lines are a total s*** show. I mean they look like fidos ass. I want to re-do them for sure. Who knows if theyll leak. We'll see.
Transfer case installed using rachet straps, a flat piece of wood, harbor freight floor jack, and lots of divine intervention.
the 100 series rear drive shaft is like an inch too long. Total bummer, im going to call some local drive shaft shops tomorrow and see if they can work me in next week. If not. Tom woods it is.
Tomorrow, PDI intercooler mock up. And if that goes well, we'll start to reassemble this thang.

Not a huge fan of the fitment from PDI, Its also setup for a aftermarket turbo, so im going to have to figure out some routing to make it work, got a few things ordered fingers crossed.
