@desmocruiser definitely have a good adventure planned. While it does appear a lot of progress is being made....as @wngrog noted there is a change up coming.

Rear elocker done and installed with new SLEE skid plate.

New Dobinsons HD adjustable front Panhard installed with new hardware. Front axle also centered up nicely under the front end now.

Fresh back from RedHead with a 105 sector shaft upgrade.

So this project has been going great. @SNLC has been crushing it and having his eyes on this truck has been really good. The project was coming full circle and really the only thing Ian had not touched was the engine. And that began to cause me a little concern. Ian did a remarkable job on the last truck he did for me and I felt like I owed it to this truck to have Ian more intimately involved with the engine.....I mean the engine swap is what started all of this and Ian has practically re-done everything on this truck but the engine.

A few months ago I got to chatting with Ian and @Onur about some long block HDFTE engines that were showing in stock in the Middle East. What if we just ordered one of those? Would it actually show up? I ended up passing on that project as @wngrog and I were buying 45’s at the time. A couple of weeks ago I started that convo again with Ian and ended up deciding to dive in. The engine showed up this afternoon in Idaho. A brand new 1HDFTE ”partial engine assembly.”

We still have a lot of OEM parts to acquire. Plus some Gturbo bits from the Aussies. Ian is already in communications re a new manual injector pump and matching Gturbo red wheel. This is pretty cool to see.

It does! Also looks well oiled under the valve cover.

I have personally never seen a new Toyota long block before let alone an FTE. It sure is pretty.

There is coolant in it as well. For corrosion protection I would assume.
