While the wheels are off the truck I decided to take the opportunity and order a new set of 315/75/16’s. Ended up going with the Cooper ST Maxx. Been a big week of purchases. Definitely going to have enough AMEX points for first class seat to Boise.
No. I’m not really sure what I will do with it. It was gray instead of tan so the color is off. I’m considering going with a LRA tank instead. Still undecided. Lots of things up in the air at this point.
We had to calculate weight yesterday for something I will let John mention but I estimate the truck running around at 6400-6500lbs and around 7,000lbs with gear.
We will weigh it when it’s all said and done and see where it lands.

@SNLC and I have been going round and round over this truck’s suspension. The BP51‘s on this truck were the typical 2.5’ version and not the long travel version. With the current springs, there was very little downward travel available. The conventional thinking was to just go back with the long travel BP51’s and call it a day. However, upon removing the shocks Ian noticed a problem with one of the front shocks. The oil was leaking past the nitrogen. No bueno. I will let @SNLC get into further details on that but its pretty s***ty. The shocks might have 2,000 EASY miles on them. ARB should take care of the bad shock.
We ddecided to try something different so I ordered a new set of custom King shocks from Filthy Motorsports. That prompted @SNLC to take the measurements and weight calculations for the shock build. This is going to be a long process and could take a few months. Two weeks ago I would have said no way because we were planning for this truck to be driving in October. That is no longer the case as some decisions have been made that are gong to push the project back a bit. More to report on that in a day or so.
