I got the heater put together. After soaking the heater core in CLR, bead blasting and painting everything, I cut foam seals from leftover OEM Toyota stuff I had collected from work. Before bead blasting I had removed the original decals and then reattached when I was done.

On the recirculation door in the fan housing, I cut the foam about 1/4" too big on three sides (excluding the hinge side). I put the foam on both sides of the door, allowing them to stick together back to back around the edge. This looks like it will seal the door much better.

I didn't see where you said what color you used for the gray... Just rustolium?

Yes, it is Rustolium charcoal grey. I had considered getting the color custom mixed, as the original grey color seemed kinda odd, but the Rustolium is pretty close, just a shade lighter.

Amazing work, hope to see it in person some day!

So I built a makeshift paint booth in my driveway. I had a huge screen house that I used the framework from. It is 12x20.

I had an old swamp cooler that I used the fan from to create a positive pressure ventilation system. It blows up like a balloon so my wife calls it the bouncy house. :bounce:

I used a speed controller that I had from Harbor freight to control the fan speed, but I have been running on high and probably don't need it. I found cool stick-on zippers I used for a door at Home Depot in the paint section. I also used furnace filters in and out.

The booth worked great and I shot all of my pewter colored stuff in one batch. The acrylic enamel from CCOT is spot on color wise and I shot three coats over PPG DP50LF epoxy primer with no problems. I used a DeVilbiss Finishline HVLP gun.

You can see how much overspray the filters caught between the first and second pictures.

The only issue I had with the paint booth setup was that the glue on duct tape would get soft in the sun and I had a couple of blowouts, but nothing major. The positive pressure helped keep dirt from entering. I used a single 100'x20' roll of 6mil plastic from home depot. I had my neighbor believing that it was a green house and that the weird smell was from a certain illegal hemp product growing inside!

Love it! It's easy to see you like doing things the right way, and it shows in your details. That paint booth setup is great. Keep the updates coming!

to get the main post out of the upper housing, you need to remove the top piece that threads in the top. There is a little spring clip that allows the top part to thread in, but not all of the way out. I clamped the post in a vice and used a big channel lock pliers to force it past the spring clip and unscrew it from the post. After I cleaned things up, I just straightened the bent clip to re-install it.

I media blasted the cast areas and cleaned up the machined surfaces on the wire wheel. I then coated everything with Teflon grease and reassembled the jack. I used Duplicolor school bus yellow to paint it.
