For those wondering about Robert's bug catcher weatherstripping. It is good stuff!
There are two kinds that he sends you. A back vertical "pivot" piece. This is the piece that the metal channeling pops into and consequently the piece the glass will pivot in.
Here you can see me fitting the rear piece and starting on the top:
Now, as you know the factory was a one piece unit, and due to the way the rubber was made, it will have to be in three pieces.
I tried and screwed up a few times. What I tried was:
1. 45 degree each corner. That looks horrible. It looked "ok" on the front two corners, but where it meets with the rear rubber - no way.
2. I tried cutting and 90 degree'ing them. This was a bit better.
3. Here was the winner for me. I went to the end with one piece, and then went to the end with the other, cutting the backside and super-gluing the "flap" on top.
It is operational, and looks good.
This is one of those things you'd never notice until you point out the seams.
I trust you guys are all doing well and keeping warm.
