Absolutely beautiful! As far as the lost data, can't you just repost the pictures and info? I know it's PIA, just wondering. Keep the pictures coming :)

assembly is hard under way!

You sure those seats need to be gray? I thought they were the same 'coral' color as the early 40 seats

Looking good Dallas

Hey man.....on the seats, you know I am not sure. When I called SOR to inquire about seat upholstery they only carry gray, and they said mine were gray. Upon investigation it appears that my seats were re-covered some time ago by an upholstery shop. They did do a good job however.
At this point I am not too worried about it, but I thought gray is what they were supposed to be.

However....in the "old 45 photo's" thread, remember this 40 series when it was new? So yeah, not sure what color my seats should be.

Thank you for the wonderful comments everyone. Today is hood mounting, running boards, and other knick-knacks.

Running boards

First, I took the running board base and traced it on some old ribbed matting:

I cut them out:

Then, I scrubbed them good with an SOS pad:

trimmed to fit:

paper punch the bolt holes:

Then, I snagged some 6mmx1.0 stainless hardware (i know, not original) and assembled them.

I know these are not perfect, but I think they are snazzy enough?! :-)

Guys, there is some humor to this photo. While trying to focus my cell phone on the running board to take a picture, my youngest decided to hop on my son's old trike and well.......slanted drive-way and all was in no time, zipping down the driveway!

I just happen to catch this on film.....seconds before she hit the rocks (luckily) and tumbled into the lawn. I had to quickly set stuff down to see if she was ok. She didn't cry but you could tell she wasn't going to get on that trike for a while. he he he....

Have a good day fellas,

Dallas

Hey Dallas, someone is currently looking into making sets of the original white pyramid mats for the older running boards. It is being discussed in the 25 section. I'll drop you a PM when they might be ready. I realize you did a great job finishing yours, but figured I'd mention it anyways... just in case you wanted to have them look stock.

The best pic to show the original color of the seats is in post 182 of this thread (page 5) but even this pic is not perfect. Atlas is working on reproducing them, and will hopefully have some ready in the not so distant future...again, just thought I would share that bit of info. with ya

So when do we get to see more pics?

SWEET! Yeah, if we could just get our hands on the material, as you can see it's easy to cut and fit and so forth. Just need to find that material - keep me in the loop! And as usual, thanks for staying tuned and for the great comments everyone! Destin.....what's the scoop on yours bro? Keep me posted ;-)

Dallas, those are way snazzy!

How old is your youngest?

Here is my little guy on his first bike. We got it at the Black Hills Cruiser Classic in South D:

TJ,

Your boy looks like he's having a blast. Love the photo! My youngest is going to be two in November.

Well, this morning was tail-lights. I got one complete and am going to work on the other tonight. I didn't think my tail-lights were in that bad of shape....

Here is one:

taillight1.jpg

Now, it looks like it just needs a new gasket and a cleaning up, right?

Well.....

taillight2.jpg

Total disaster in there. So I had to replace the lamp.

Some of you pro's are probably already a step ahead thinking....Yes, those are the same housings as the bib lights, but have two wires going to the bulb base vs. one on the bib lights.

Well, I just bought bib lights....and then swapped the one wire bulb base with a two-wire bulb base and then reassembled them.

Here is the bracket for reference:

taillight3.jpg

I sand blasted the bracket and painted gloss black.

I then reassembled the lamp assemblies and went to my "red lenses" stash and again, polished the best two. Again, these are not PERFECT, but they are pretty close in my opinion:

Catcha later,

Dallas
