I'm looking for an FJ40 to undergo a V8/auto tranny swap. It doesn't have to run well, but it does have to run, i.e. it has to be able to be driven onto a trailer so it can be shipped to me (if necessary), then towed to my mechanic.
Requirements:
- year doesn't matter, though I would prefer a 75 or newer (76 would be ideal)
- sound, solid frame
- solid body, no diamondplate or holes from rust, some surface rust is fine
- must have factory hard top and hard doors
I can pick up a 5.7L vortec and a 4L60E tranny for relatively cheap (about $2500-$3000 total), so engine/tranny problems are fine, as long as it can be started and driven onto a trailer.

I was gonna do the 350 conversion but didnt have the time with highschool, and found a new cruiser ;)
85 cruiser, gun metal blue, is complete except the 2f and all the parts asso. with it :D brand new PE 3" lift suspention with less then 2000 miles on it, new greaseable shackles and frame pins, new tires 33x12.5. Transfer and transmission dont grind and are in good shape, as well as the body. The interior has the carpet removed and the floor has bed liner painted on. Im in oregon, and am asking for $1500 (the suspention was 800 new, and the tires were around 600 with the rims, both of which were put on about 2 weeks before she died)
Also, if you want i will include a rebuildable 2f for no extra charge with the 3f bellhousing...

ive got a totalled 4runner id like to get rid of. "official" estimate was around 6,000 to fix, but that included cosmetics (paint job and such). slid off icy road into creek.
main damage was to frame, control arm. body was untouched till it was towed out got scratched on passenger side. around 140,000 miles. engine runs, transmission is locked up, not sure if rusted or what. it drove after the crash reverse and forward, ended up getting stuck in deep water in the creek.
was very nice before crash, five speed transmission. cd player, sunroof, etc. just thought id throw it on here, see if anyones interested.
would like 2500 OBO will consider any serious offer
located in Buffalo, WY it will drive, but the tires are bowed...

82 BJ 60 Turbocharged 3B, excellent fuel economy, amazing power. No smoke at all. Suspension lift, 411 gears, detroit locker and 35 mud tires. Warn 8274 on custom tube bumper. wrap around tube bumper rear with reciever and shackles. Power steering, and air compresor. CB, CD with amp and sub, and alarm with imobilizer. Tinted windows, inclineometer, H4 piaa headlights, and fog lights.
This truck has been well looked after with the majority of parts replaced in the last 3 years. There is no rust on frame, the body has minimal suface rust but could use a sanding and paint. The turbo is a toyota CT 26 mounted to a custom header. I have more pics. ferociousfish8@yahoo.ca

87fj60 190k mi 3" lift 33x9.50x15 wild country tires,
new: oilpan, 2 1/2" cat/exhaust,HEI dist,tie rods, and many seals/gaskets,painted undercoated in 2001 greenish gray, no oil leaks,inside and out looks great. It is desmoged so won't pass smog test if you have one.I have the smog parts if you want them.
Drove it on a trip last March from WI to: ID, OR coast, Vagas and back 5400mi problem free. I bought a 94 fzj80 that needed lost of love and I don't drive the 60 much so I must sell it to pay for the high $80 stuff. $6500

I have a 1974 fj40 with hard top for sale. It has a new CCOT radiator, new water pump and fan, electronic ignition, new poly fuel tank, Man-a-Fre 6 into 1 headers, fluid heat riser, new Corbeau Sport seats and mounts, new seat belts with shoulder straps, new CCOT center console with stereo that locks, new mats from CCOT. Has original H inline 6 diesel engine, H41 4 speed with low first. In '76 front disk brakes were not an option in Costa Rica, so later model disks were added. I believe it has 4.11s. It supposedly starts, runs, and drives excellently which would lead me to believe the smoking problem is related to dirty injectors or a fuel filter. You'll notice some body filler, take it for what it's worth. I think the bed is OK but the cab is fairly clean. 100% legal US importation via the 25 year old rule, imported through a registered importer.
