Hi I have a 1990 4x4 extended cab truck for sale.
NOT RUNNING MOTOR DISASSEMBLED/SHOT!
Condition:
Salvage title and last registered in 2001. Could be out of the DMV system by now as many get purged after 7 years. I can give you the vin the check
Has I believe 165,XXX miles on the ODO
It has a V6 block still in it...looks like it blew a head gasket and got taken apart and not put back together. The motor has rust in the cylinders and is probably useless.
Automatic transmission and transfer case still in the vehicle
Front IFS, rear axle, steering and suspension is complete
Some interior parts are removed
Has a different set of bucket seats (nothing special)
No tailgate or taillights
Mismatched wheels and tires, but they hold...

I have access to a 1988 (will come titled as a 1984 with no competeing Vin plates) HJ61. This is the cream of the crop with the 12HT motor and automatic transmission. -Side curtain airbags for all three rows (Optional before '06 and standard thereafter on all trims)
I was gung-ho on getting the (dark) gray color (Phantom Gray Pearl for '04-'05 and Slate Metallic for '06-), but am starting to get not too picky as I really need to pick one up soon!
However, I still don't think I could go for the maroon, gold, or light blue... That might leave white, silver and navy...
I am a Cruiser Virgin, but I have been reading a lot over the past day about FJ's and 4runners and certainly find this network of enthusiasts pretty sweet and one worth pursuing. I am currently a college student looking for either a FJZ80 Diesel or 4Runner. My budget is about $8000, this car can be a project vehicle or even a stock car, I am looking to get into the hobby anyway. I am game for driving anywhere in the US to get the car. I would like to sell or trade my 2005 Nissan Titan LE 41000miles. This model is fully loaded from the factory with; leather, heated seats, navigation, 4 wheel drive, Big Tow package, heated outside mirrors, 6 disk cd changer and much more. I bought this FJ40 June 2008 from a mini storage in East Bakersfield. Originally bought in Burbank, then moved to Bakersfield. SoCal truck all its life. I am the second owner The vehicle is in excellent orginal, uncut, and rust free shape. Only signifigant rust is on drivers side rear quarter panel. It is about the size of quarter. Must see her to appreciate the unrestored condition. If interested, I would recommend looking at it in person. I don't feel comfortable selling sight-unseen at any price. Asking $9800 OBO, or trade for any four door toyota. Roof rack included. I need more room for family.

202K - Said it is mechanically sound, A/C is weak, might need compressor, O2 sensor is throwing a code intermittantly, body in fair condition, leather is poor shape.
Since I was going to redo seats anyway, leather doesn't throw me, I've replaced O2 sensors before. If I can get it and get it painted and interior ok, it just might work!
Anything I should look for specifically? I read "the list" once already.

bed professionally line-x'd and the leer fiberglass cap has been upgraded with a Yakima roof rack and basket.
2.5in suspension lift using downey coil springs and bilsteins in the front and downey leaf springs in the rear.
The tires are BFG 33x9.5 and I have two spares, the spares have never been used and the tires on the truck have about 50% tread left.
Air conditioning blows cold and the radio has been moved to the center console to deter theft. (the radio has a remote control so you don't have to open the center console every time you want to change the channel!)
