Just giving anyone in central New Jersey a heads up that there's a round bezel FJ40 sitting out front of a recycler down the street from my house. Someone brought it in for scrapping I would presume and they set it out front probably hoping to sell it whole. Not sure of the year as I just stopped in there around dark. Has a four speed plate on the dash so I would say between 75-78? Has stock six under hood.
Some obvious rot and last registered up in Vermont I think.

I have a 70 FJ40 originally purchased in California. It has not been driven on the winter roads of Wisconsin. There is a little bit of rust under the rear gate, a little bit under passenger door and a little bit in the bed where the original roll bar was at due to prior owner putting carpet under bar. I have owned for the last 10 years with high hopes of making it an awesome looking 40 but with Kids in sports and to many other toys some must go to make room for others. I hate to see it go but I need the room and money for other projects. I posted before but the post can no longer be accessed so I thought I would just repost.
List of items are as follows:
- Electronic Crane Cam Fireball ignition.

i have a 71-40 project car, body only, no top or front doors. It's straight enough with uncut rear fenders but has one patched up rear corner that probably should be fixed with new metal but right now it looks ok. The fenders are pretty straight and the hood for it is perfect. It's pretty much all there with a good windshield. It had a v8 but the mounts are all wrong and they cut the stock ones out so something needs to be redone there. The rear frame member is bent out slightly from overloading the hitch on something. There is a bench seat that needs redone, some jump seats and a single roll bar. There is a pretty massive bumper on the front that is straight and a home made tow bar on the front that will unbolt. This cruiser is a project, but it does run. If you can do some body work and tinkering under the hood, you'll have an excellent trail rig. Tranny shifts, 4wd works, brakes work, etc.
You'll also get a '76 front disk axle (needs rebuild), front fenders, extra factory roll bar with new paint and oem pads, '78 small cap electronic distributor and igniter, new oem fan, new head gasket, new exhaust gasket, carb rebuild kit, soft half doors, new CCOT Radiator with new hoses and clamps. I think there's a couple of other things...it all goes with the 40...one shot...

I have a 1970 fj40 for sale.New parts :new alt. and battery,new voltage reg.,fuel pump,rebuilt carb,all radiator hoses,belt,oil pan gasget,valve cover gasget,master cyl,rebuilt clutch master,rebuilt all wheel cylinders,new paint org color,hard top seals,6 into 1 header (small leak).I have done so much Im sure there something Im forgetting but this rig is in great shape and runs good. No rust to speak of ,there is a few tiny rust spots under the drivers floor that dont hinder a thing.I bought the rig from my boss who bought it in 76.I tried to get it when I was 16 from him but he wouldnt sell it .I finally got it but have to let it go. I have the full hard top in same great shape.I asking $9500 obo I live in Georgia about an hour and 45...

I am still trying to sell my cruiser. I have owned Colonel Mustard for 7 years. I am hitting the road touring next year and need the cash. Brakes have been rebuilt less than a year ago with reciepts. It runs very very solidly. Starts on one key turn. OWN a PIECE OF HISTORY. There are a few rust spots but nothing that can't be easily remedied. Very few 1982's came into the country. Aside from the brakes I have done all the work on it myself.

This is mine. Hate to but have to in order to finish other projects sitting in my garage.
I have a '74 FJ40 that I'm putting up for sale (kids don't have the interest and I don't have the time without family support). The truck is in decent shape - I have completed all the mechanical work, but still needs cosmetics (paint/new seats/rhino lining). I just replaced the clutch. All electrical wiring under the hood (and accessories) were replaced last fall due to an engine fire (started due to a ruptured fuel line - now replaced w/ braided stainless). Here is a basic listing:
* 74 Toyota Factory Soft top (currently has a Kayline top w/orig. drop tailgate)
* 5-37" Goodyear MTR's (matching spare)
* Chevy 350 (smog legal install - the truck is currently smog exempt)

1973 FJ40, V-8 Chevy, Toyota 4 speed "SOLD"
Selling an October 72 (73) FJ40. This was built in 96 and has around 10K on the motor and tires. It has a 305 small block Chevy motor with flat top pistons 9.5:1 compression, mild rv cam, quadrajet, HEI ignition. It has a bellhousing adapter to a 78 Landcruiser 4spd trans and transfer. Axles are stock 73 with 4:11 gears and drum brakes. The odometer shows 38k and I don't believe it has flipped more than once. It has the original paint, a steel roll bar, and forward facing rear seats that fold down and forward. It has never been wrecked and has zero bondo.
