Forgot to log a couple goodies I bought from my buddy Jeff Bezos

Dog is fluffy and white, so wanted some seat back covering that doubled as durable surface for hauling. These are for a 4Runner.

And kind of as an experiment....knockoff Superbumps. I actually really like how they feel. I did go back and chop one donut off the fronts so they dont always ride right on the arms. Would have been perfect lifted, so Ill probably rebuy if I get to that point.

My sound logic for trying them was my daily hatred for a triple railroad crossing on the road I live off of. It didnt cut the harshness a ton on them though…… did help larger hits on the freeway though. Just smoother on things where you’re catching the trucks weight, and not just trying to stop quick jabs.

So maybe that means RR crossings need to be at full speed?

(Fluid film is still very much filmy)

Thanks for this you made me go check out your buddy Jeff last night LOL. Those are perfect for me as well, normally I crate the dog(s) but the oldest is wearing the cone of shame after having a tumor removed. Have the Bison Gear attic rack with the fold down barrier so last few trips to the vet been putting him in the back minus the crate. Knew I needed a seat back protector long before this and lately just reinforcing that fact.

Took me awhile but pretty sure I found the ones you got and your review so ordered them they will be here Sunday. Hopefully mine will be the same color as yours and not black like most of the listings show. $29 is kind of hard to beat if they work, and if they don't Jeff said I had 30 days to send them back for free. If these work as well for me as they did you then I am pretty much done with the cargo area, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I think they are the same, but yours are a better deal.

These are what I ordered

So after going over discussion about spare tire fit in this thread, I reached out to Dr.KDSS about the claim that rear sway spacers will fit a 285/70/17. He said "works on a 4Runner so should work on a GX"

Well, ok....so I tried it (still stock suspension). I got the 265/70r18 (32.6") spare under there fully inflated. I did have to take off the Curt hitch. This is the Whiteline spacer kit.

Its close, but Im going to run it for a bit and see how it works out.

Its got about 1/4"+ all around the bar and brackets

DyNzAB4.jpeg

I drove it up on opposing ramps to flex it out some....With the driver side extended, it gets even more room

Downside is the bar sticks down a bit

HadVnK5.jpeg

Then when the other side is down, the bracket does just touch the tire...the boot does not

Passenger side always clears, so theres a chance I could try and shift the tire over that way slightly too

I was hoping the ones I ordered were more brown like yours however they are black just like the listing shows. Which turns out OK as I have black elevated platform for groceries\shooting gear and base with L Track is black as well. Either way they are perfect and thanks for bringing these up! Besides mud and blood will keep the stiff red dog hair out of the carpet now 👍

They do look nice. My picture is probably deceiving as I have black interior with the dark grey leather, so they kind of have that grey carbon-fiber/black sort of color in reality but under my weak dome light looked a little 'richer'.

Added some bling. Actually they are some damned stout pieces. I wouldnt yank on them much harder than I would the tie downs that they attach to, but I couldnt resist. They mount to the 1) the OE tiedowns, 2)side of rad support, and 3) to three frame horn bolts. NYTOP had the red ones on sale for like $100 off when I conveniently happened to visit their website last week. Figured I can coat them grey or black if the red gets old, but I like em.

Only downside is having to trim the wind tray thing to fit between them.

I like how clean looking these recovery points are... is there any notation from NYTOP as to whether or not these are rated to GVWR? I like that these are a pretty easy install but 'Looks beefy' and 'Are beefy' are two different things. The attachment points are very similar to the ARB recovery points for the 5th Gen 4Runner. I don't know if the ARB ones are rated to GVWR either... just curious if NYTOP sent anything along suggesting its OK to actually use them.

They each have a WLL of 12K lbs. according to NYTOP. There was also a sticker on them stating that.

Their little rainbow load analysis images also show the worst of it right at the thinner front hoop, so I guess in theory that would just tear off before actually tweaking the truck.....so Id say that is a good thing.

Note that those ratings would be for a straight on pull. It will be a lot less if you have to pull from the side or an angle other than colinear with your vehicle.

We touched some dirt and gravel this week. Took the dog down to explore some hiking paths and Old Man's Cave. Stayed in a 'treehouse' thing. It was literally bolted to those two trees with like 1" bolts, though it had posts also on either side for stability.

We did roll around some back roads ect exploring here and there. I dont know enough to know if there are any offroadable roads or trails round where we were.

Snowball had a blast. He's a Cream Golden / Great Pyrenees mix.

Old Mans Cave was conveniently dead on a Monday so we had it nearly all to ourselves. Did about 4 hours there.

But then once we put his bed in the trunk to start packing, he just went and hung out there until we left lol

That tree house is wayyy too cool!
Is that a public thing on state or USFS land that's come first serve for spending the night? Or something on your property or???

Nah its a AirB&B thing. My wife found it. Its a property that has a big house/lodge they rent out and 3 cabins, which this is one of. Its certainly on the fancier side for a "tree house" lol

They probably used engineered treehouse bolts, like these ones: Heavy-Duty Treehouse Bolts & Brackets - https://www.treehousesupplies.com/collections/heavy-duty-bolts-brackets

If so they are very strong and able to accommodate movement/growth in the tree without killing it, but they are also very expensive. I looked at them for a deerstand build but ended up going with 1" lag screws instead of dropping $1K in bolts for a structure that we sit in 1 or 2 days a year :).

Yep, I think that is it...they had those spacers on them for movement as well. Very cool.

Greetings from the northern state line. We stayed in HH a few years ago over Memorial Day Weekend. I recall an off-road park not far away.
