I am looking for a '79-83 FJ40. Would like power steering, no rust (at least no rust-THROUGH), possibly a mild lift like 3", clean strong engine (would like to keep with the 2F if possible), and preferably no major modifications. Worn or faded paint is fine with me, gives it character. I would prefer to find one in AZ, southern CA, NM, or southern Nevada so that I can see it in person before purchase. I am currently looking on all the common Cruiser classified web sites, CL, and EBay, but am thinking someone out there may be teetering on the edge of putting theirs up for sale, and I can tip them over the edge with my ad. ;) Thanks!
Added info: I want to stay away from diamond plating, must have hardtop and doors, price range...

I have a 1971 FJ40 that will make a great project. It has the 1F engine (98,000 miles) and a new Tiger soft top. The engine is not getting a spark, so I think the coil is bad. The body is straight with just a few rust spots inside the front right fender. I have the 2 jump seats in the back, but they will need to be re-covered.
The downside is there is no windshield just the frame. The front seats are not original and will need to be bolted down too. The tires are 31x10.5 Mud terrains on chrome wheels. There are Rancho shocks and steering as well.
I'm in Eugene Oregon.

I’d like to pick up a 1979, or 1980 FJ40. I plan on wheeling, and daily driving. Located in the SW would be best. Also other years will be taken into consideration….the thing is I am 6’4” so head room is a concern. A/C, along with power steering are a must. I'm on the search for a 60 or 62 for 2-3k...or a rusty 40 for that same price. The trouble is I'm not sure of all my search options. Craig's List is an obvious start; also the classifieds here are alright but it's nationwide. Can anyone help in figuring out how to search more locally but not be limited to Craig's List? I'm in Colorado. Maybe that's the only option! I don't know how to do the PM thing, so a reply to this post would be great, and it may also help others in a similar situation.

Selling for another, 65000 miles 2f engine, has weber carb but I am going to convert back to original with newly rebuilt carb and mechanical fuel pump from Marks offroad, multispark ignition, many extras newly professionally refurbed white top (PO had painted it black and previous repairs on old top not good) new 31 inch tires and rims,4 inch lift,master cylinder and new tie rods installed by PO before I purchased, new oem gas tank installed, new door panels, seats reupholstered, new kenwod stereo with remote and ipod jack, new locks, new mirrors, some rust worst in drivers floor pan, rear heater not installed yet, reduced to $7800 or best offer!

1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser w/ Small Block Chevy V8, Edelbrock Carb and Chevy 4 speed manual transmission (unsure what model). This has been my daily driver, but my family has outgrown it and the economy has made it so I need something I can haul and work odd jobs and construction. I can't do three vehicles so this one has to go.
Comes with two ambulance doors in excellent condition. The vacuum system has a leak somewhere so the transfer case is not engaging.
