Yeah huh. I smoked the unfiltered too. Such nasty ass. Then I swapped over to menthols cuz they tasted so much better after smoking a bowl. ;)

Birds of a feather....but I didn't smoke menthol. ;)

So that stink from the shifter and below... rear main? Gear oil I gather. I see now what @OSS means when he tells folks to clean the top of the tcase before they open it up to rebuild on the truck. It’s got a layer of thick grim and half knawed acorns sitting across its upper side.
Sitting here shaking my head.
Oh boy.

It was literally a shell of paper. Pretty much nothing left of candy in there!
Ok so someone just said possibly my tcase and transmission vents are blocked.
Can someone shoot me a good photo so I know what I’m looking for?

One thing after another... I too started with Camelcancer sticks, thanks to Uncle John leaving a pack.:vomit:

Whats the objective here? Find the leak on xfr? Yeah, clean the top off good, might be clogged breather as mentioned.
No pic, I believe the cap is frontleft of the shifter boot?

I have the drivers side floor repair as well, and the true leak there is cracked sealer @ internal seams in the cowl/fender inner firewall below windshield.

Rear main seal is at the rear of the crank where your flywheel bolts to it. It would leak motor oil not the stinky gear oil in your t case and trans. Your clutch housing cover (just behind the oil pan) will be wet and prob drip.

Are you going to weld the floor? If not you can just cut some sheet metal and install with some small sheet metal screws or rivets. Overlap by making the patch metal about 1 inch bigger than the hole all around. Grind out the rust first and put a bead of seam sealer on the floor before screwing down the new floor. Follow up by going under the truck and putting another bead around the bottom to keep water out of the crack. I've done this and lasted for years. This year I will go back and revisit these patches and weld them.

Thanks all for tips.
Regarding the holes.... what about the bed liner? Try to scrape it away? I know where to get dry ice so I could chip it off. I don’t weld but know a few who do, it would be a paid job tho.
Kiddo is just falling asleep so I’ll get back out there once I lay him down and try to clean up thru the top of the transmission hole and try to find the breather.

What am I looking at? Speedo or 4wd electrical to dash light?

And there’s a spring looking thing inside the shifter arm... ?

not sure what you looking at
but that looks like the reverse light switch

Just a thought but possibly the trans/transfercase seal is bad and you have fluid migration? Have you pulled the fill plugs to see? I was a lucky strike guy back in the day...
Everything is sopping wet under the truck. I’m sure the seal is shot. I’ll attempt to find the fill under all the slop and grim.
