      1. install a Hydro boost brake system...but it puts you in the same situation with the clutch booster being in the way. And it's expensive and you can destroy a high pressure power steering pump if you don't know what you're doing. 2. Tundra...

Yes, there's a pilot bearing at the end of the Crankshaft for the trans input shaft snout. Not uncommon for those to go bad after many miles.

It may not be clear in the image but the single line coming off the EGR modulator going straight down goes to the metal EGR valve and connects to a vacuum port there.

In this image the ports pictured at the top right are located on the passenger side of the carb and are the 4 lines that run forward to 4 vacuum pipes over the intake in front of the carb. In the image below that, 12 dots represent the metal...

Safe to say things don’t always go as planned. @CenTXFJ60 and I decided to tackle knuckle job and breaks while we wait for driveshafts to be lengthened. Took apart knuckle housing, grease looked good but there was a suction when trying to take it...

This has been a fun project. When we ran into the T-case issue both Georg @orangefj45 and Matt @cruisermatt were a huge help. Also appreciate Dave @NookShneer helping with the frame bracket kit from his place of employment (TorFab). I’ve done...

Using Partsouq's schematic parts look up on my 87 vin....it shows the original part as ...010 but looks like superceded by ...020 Here's the image to verify we are talking about the t-stat housing to head gasket.

longest line first. I think it is drivers rear, then passenger rear, then drivers front, passengers front.

After another weekend of wrenching, I cleaned out the master cylinder and flushed all the old fluid out of the lines. The bottom of the master cylinder cup was black with dirt, so I'm guessing a lot that junk ruined my master cylinder seals...

Is the gas even with the center of the sight window now? FYI...a clogged egr valve will cause stalls also. I once cleared a sticking clogged EGR valve simply by beating it with a hammer as the engine rev'd. Are you completely desmogged or do...

When you blow through the fuel line fitting air should easily move through the needle and seat. Then when the flow comes to the full level (6mm from the body) there should be NO air pushing through. Yes even a small amount would mean that fuel...

The pin is not designed to seat fully into the drag-link end or frame mount, a gap is absolutely normal. Simply torque to spec

Going down a steep hill at speed then stopping hard could be stirring up the fuel and any trash or water in it causing a stall.

Pressurized fuel from the pump doesn't push the needle seat closed. It only gives the fuel positive pressure so it will go in the carb bowl once the float gets low and opens the valve. When the float is in the "bowl full position" it is pushing...

If the gas is visible at the top of the site window you either need to readjust the float or inspect the rubber tip of the needle valve for damage. You can also physically blow throw the gas passage when you close and open the float to make sure...

you can make a gasket with gasket making material or even household door weatherstrip that you buy in a role at any hardware store. The plug is just rubber. You prob can find something in a parts store. I've driven mine without the clutch fork...

bottom right in this schematic. I recall only having to remove about 6 or 7 small machine screws. I believe they had 12mm heads. Mine is an 87. bottom of the bellhousing would be the same thing as the dust cover or aka inspection cover.

Agreed...get a new bottle of dot3 brake fluid and top off the master cylinder reservoir after bleeding each wheel cylinder or caliper. Don't let the reservoir get too low. Looks like you have plenty of brake material on the shoes. It's also...

you can test the brake booster by pumping the brake pedal with the motor off. It should get a little taller with a few pushes. then turn the engine on and with vacuum boost working correct the pedal should sink. If nothing happens here your...

Y'all have provided some amazing info, I am definitely in over my head but trying to get my ducks in a row as I wait for the plugs to arrive. I am doing the sniper EFI from Mosley so I know some desmog is going to happen. The amount of info on...

Ok, so I notice an air hose running over the air rail at the broken valve end. BTW air rail is slang for what OSS already mentioned is actually the "air injection manifold". SO..... you should really educate yourself on removing and plugging...

@dfreud Check the inside of the frame rails in two spots: 1. At the very back on either side of the spare tire. The frame is not fully boxed here, it’s two C-channels nested together. The inner one gets warped from rust. 2. The front mount for...

Damages caused so far: broken stud exhaust manifold to pipe. Tore off the ear on one of the heat shields. and one surgical cut on the top left side of the core support which will heal nicely.
