I am going to have a winch, on a CCOT HFS Winch bumper, but I'm going to do like Pighead did (see pics above in his previous posting) and run it low profile.
I could be wrong, it’s bound to happen eventually, but I don’t think this is going to work out for you unless you lower the bumper somehow. I’m pretty sure the FJ55 bumper sits a little lower than the FJ40 bumper with respect to the Brady gap the handle passes through. If you look at Pighead’s pic, there’s maybe 2” of space between bumper and crank handle (and crank handle is resting on winch). On a 40, there’s 1/2”-1”. But that handle, even with no winch in the way, has a very small window to line up properly and be functional.

I just googled that bumper and unless you flip it or heavily modify it, there’s no way you will have a functional crank handle.

Thank you for the information. Not the end of the world I guess. I was only going to get one to use when adjusting the valves or if the battery went dead.

Skreddy makes a good point, make sure you can use a crank handle before you worry about not being able to get one

Anyone know the length of the crank? I have what I believe to be a tire removal crank from a 55. I read somewhere it may be the same as a 40 engine crank. This one has had a piece welded in the center to extend the length.

The 45/55 crank is longer. IIRC it's 1005 mm. The 40 crank handle is 850 mm.

Anyone ever used the Warn 9.0 RC? The RC stands for Rock Climber edition. Looks like it has a smaller footprint than most winches. I found one but the seller says it needs a solenoid.

That's a lot of money for not much winch.

Looking at Warns website it appears its a 54lbs winch designed for rock crawling competition.

Right. Might be fine for light weight tube buggys, Not so much for a laden LandCruiser.
