Stainless exhaust kit coming to a town near me.

Finally looked for that annoying shudder when loading the engine. Lived with it for two years. 5 minute fix.

Transmission tower clearance.

Amazon crap

Keep it simple stupid. Not bad for an hour of work. That was painless.

How loud is it with a straight pipe?

I’ve never heard a 3B without exhaust and I know a turbo reduces noise somewhat.

In ‘96 when I drove with my first SBC to the muffler shop the 10.25:1 engine was insanely loud. It was loud enough that I couldn’t hear the alternator bearing that was ready to grenade.

In 2017 +/- I listened to the current SBC with no exhaust… it was loud with no exhaust, but at 9:1, you could hear someone was talking beside you if you were 20 feet away. I was somewhat surprised by how much quiet it was.

I’d imagine it is like the difference between the fender well dump and dumping in front of the rear wheel. :D But perhaps both would be somewhat quieter. 🤷‍♂️

The sound is way better. More deep throttle sound. If I get sick of that. I’ll drive my dodge for long drives. Gotta hear that spooling!!!!

The exhaust on our Ambo currently has a muffler and a CAT. I have a 4 year newer SS exhaust that no longer has a CAT... I've been very tempted to swap it in to see if it'll help the Turbo. However, it is still a Stock muffler so I don't think it'll be a huge difference. Than said, the CAT currently on the rig is 28 years old and likely has a few pounds of carbon in it... unless they actually burn it off somehow.

My 3b with a little T is pretty quiet. I do have a muffler, I should ditch it, might let me get over 9psi, although it does boost fast.

I can hear the turbo whistle but I figure that's because there's ****all between me and it.

Funny on my 60, it actually got louder inside the truck when I installed a muffler. My theory is, the same amount of noise is coming out of the engine, but instead of coming out the tail pipe and dispersing, it's making the muffler resonate under me. Can't hear the turbo at all in that truck.

I'm probably due to redo the first half of the exhaust again, I'll scrap the muffler when I do. A few less decibels inside the truck would be nice.

I am super happy with the outcome of everything. Good power, excellent sound and all the old men drop their panties when I drive by. WINNIING!

Time for the PTO

One of my friends buddies was introduced to me reccently saying his brother got a 1984 bj40 stuck in a swamp 15 years ago just outside of Edmonton. He's going to send me pictures after he returns home from his road trip in a couple weeks. FREE!!!!! Sounds like a road trip. Good thing I just installed my new clutch in my dodge.

No turning back now. No need for muffler space so I’m making a 27”x17”x 12” deep toolbox. Sick of all my s*** floating around. And some A-hole nabbed my tool kit last year when I had the top off.

While I was having a beer a a local brewery, the owner said he had a bunch of stainless out back. FREE!!!!

Going to strathcon industries tomorrow to find some cool hinges and maybe some t-handle latches. I bed that lid is gonna raddle??? Time will tell. Total cost..:: 6-8 beers. I lost count. On that note, better fill it up with ice and beer. Now I’m thinking of spray foam and a bear proof cooler for camping.
