Hey, just saw this on FB so went to the website. This is Hot Rod Club stuff, but a gear head is a gear head. Sad that 4X guys aren't thought of 'hot rodding' just cause we don't go fast and shiny, doesn't mean we aren't masters at performance and upgrades.
But F'em, go anyways.

Wednesday Nights @ KMS Parking lot Nanaimo - begins 5:30 pm - weekly
Thursday Nights @ A&W Ivy Green Ladysmith - begins 5:00 pm - weekly

Nick: maybe make a sticky so people can post events as they show up??

I agree. I find hot rod gear heads are equally or even more interested in my 40 than the same boring cars that they see all the time. I’ve seen some pretty slick hot rods… but I’d rather see a custom, out of the box, custom 4x4… than a shiny car that’s never driven anywhere.

Cruiser Days 2025! Hougen Park, Abbotsford, July 19th 10am!

See Coastal Cruisers page. 30th anniversary of the get together. I’ve been a few times. Really hope to have the 60 all put together by then, other wise I’ll take the 74 over.

Ironically after an overly warm day today it's supposed to cloud up and rain, but if anyone is
interested I'm taking the 74 to KMS for the Wednesday night drive in around 6 pm. It's pretty ratty
not sure I'll park it in the show area or not. Interior is stripped out.

I'm working so I can't, but it'd be fun to check out one of these days.

Neighbour's in that Smokin' Oldies club.

He has a beautiful little Model A hot rod....and my other neighbour has one of the nicest restored model A's you'll ever see.

Almost 100 years old, and they end up parked in the same garage one day.

The smokin oldies bbq is usually next door labour day weekend. Must be a few million in cars.

Hell probably a million in paint jobs...scary

So many old guys, I'm no longer amazed at the sum value of classics anywhere, going to annual Smokin' Oldies Club meet
would be pretty cool. My weird schedule makes it hard to hit these things, but I hope by posting events at least if we
keep up, at least be aware of them. Rather go for a cruise than watch reruns on the box!!

Since you brought it up, be a miracle if I'm home this weekend! Port Alberni Saturday!

4WDABC 4x4s & Coffee – Nanaimo
March 6th | 6:30PM
Hosted at Cap-It Nanaimo
The Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia is bringing the 4x4 community together in Nanaimo, and if it’s got four-wheel drive, you’re invited.
On March 6th at 6:30PM, join us for an after-hours 4x4s & Coffee meet hosted at Cap-It Nanaimo. The parking lots are connected, so there’s plenty of room to roll in, park up, and line the rigs up right.
This isn’t a car show.
There are no trophies.
No egos.
Just trail rigs, overland builds, mud trucks, classics, daily-driven 4x4s — and the people who live for dirt roads and backcountry access.
What to Expect:
🔥
A stacked lineup of 4x4s
☕
Bring your own coffee
🛞
Trail talk & build conversations
🤝
Meet the 4WDABC crew
📸
Good vibes before sunset
Whether you're stock or fully built, this is about strengthening the Island off-road community and supporting the organization fighting to keep our trail access open.
Tag your crew.
Top up the tank.
Roll in for 6:30PM.
We’ll see you in Nanaimo.

Vancouver Island Car Club - just posted a summer meeting schedule from Facebook. Always cool to head out for ice cream on a weeknight if there is something going on, but never know about stuff. So here is a photo of the list. Maybe get some old Cruisers out there as well as hot rods.

I was at work yesterday and a bunch of them drove through the parking lot. Didn't see the start so I don't know how many but I think I saw 10 or so.

Accidentally entered the show and shine parade a couple years ago leaving work. Was kinda embarrassing. People waving at me all along somenos road 😂

Is that 4wdabc thing a recurring event? I was working on the the last one. Might be cool to check out if it lines up.
I'm not sure. They are very active on FB. I think Cap-It has become a major sponsor and supporter.
The last one was the night before my 4 am wake up call for work. I would have gone, cause going to work
was a surprise! Anyhow, I'm home this week so might try to search one or two out. Get out of the house
and away from TV / interweb bs.

They had one in Nanaimo not to long ago and Colin Stewart is heading up the bc4wd Vancouver Island. Nice catching up with him, bumped into him again at a bday party in Cedar must of been 15 rigs at Jason Lapointe 40th. Lots of overnight campers..
