I had to extend the seat legs by 1.5, seems there a few changes they did in Brazil for some reason or another? I found an old mongoose bicycle frame that yielded just enough to do the job. I bolted down the TJ seat too.

Pretty cool to optimize cargo area and have lots of seating. My daughter seen how many people we can fit in this cruiser and now she doesn’t want me to sell it. Now she wants to keep this one and sell the BJ40.

All other things being equal I’d keep it. BJs are going for top dollar. All polished up that’ll fetch more, but as is not as much. Besides you can have another BJ, but won’t see another of those near here.

Someone installed a Land Cruiser window frame. The bolt holes from the bandeirante are slightly off from each other. There’s been some deleted and some added. Lazy f-ers just zip cut some of the side bolts on both sides of the window frame. There was just enough of a stub to slowly extract them. One stripped unfortunately. Now that I’m a riv nut expert, I’ll probably add some more here. There are no bolt holes on the side of the firewall. So definitely there.
24 to 12volt converter arrived yesterday. Hopefully 20amp is enough to run the heater and rear blower?

Oh Moderator, we need some cruiser viagra around here. Time to switch back to the rat race forum.
It’s getting bad when my slowest build ever has been the source of the most activity lately.
Definitely the doldrums of winter right now.
There's tons of stuff on my list but every time I go out there, I lose motivation to do anything to a cruiser.
Been deep in getting my shop better organized and purging crap. Only took 9 years at this "new" place to do it

I had to oval out some of the bolt holes and Use 3 rivnuts. Upgraded to stainless because the paint kept chipping every time I unbolted them. So annoying! One side complete.

YouTube rivnut tool.
I figured out that method back in 2010… it works quite well, however isn’t the fastest. That said, if you’re only doing a handful of rivnuts or you’ll have to wait for one (or drive a distance to get one), the extra 2-3 minutes an insert is worthwhile.
Part of why I bought mine from KMS tools was it came with the Rivnuts, and didn’t cost much more than the selection of Rivnuts it came with would cost. I’ve been in the situation, modifying wheelchairs, where Handidart is waiting and an extra 5 minutes means the client misses their ride and they’d have to wait 3-5 hours for another. In those situations, every second counts and it’s worth $50 to have the “right” tool for the job.
I have one similar to this…
For $32 with the inserts, it’s practically getting the tool For free with the inserts. It seems to work fine for “home” use.

So I’ve tried to seal this power steering box 2 times already with no luck. The shaft is pitted and oil is pushing past the seal. I could use the shaft out of this 1st generation pickup push pull steering box but I’m too afraid of rebuilding it. Sooo, I’m building a new mount for the 1st gen PS box. To be lined up properly to the steering shaft it has to sit 45 degrees higher on the firewall side. Here comes the beef.
