The 2003-06 TJ seat is a 3 seater?
It’s just a bit narrower than the space between the wheel wells. 0.5-0.75 clearance on each end. Seating 3 should be quite doable if it’s not mounted too low.

Bolted the cage down. The front bolts go right on each side of a body crossmember so super tough. The rears are just through the fenders. In a perfect world they’d have better support but maybe one day??

Someone fabbed up this cool tire swing out carrier. Which pivots when you open the rear door. Unfortunately they just mounted the lever mount onto the super flexible 18 gauge steel. I had the perfect piece in my scrap pile the re-enforce the mount. There is a backing plate welded on to the back of my cross member, tapped and installed some oem 12mm bolts. She’s solid now.

It’s too early to crack a beer and watch paint dry so. Onto more heater crap.

1000% better

Added a 12 volt rear bi60 heater. Will have to wire it with 24 to 12 volt reducer which I might add a 12v stereo to run on the same circuit.

$500 for two new interstates. Ouch!!! But we’ll worth it.

And a bit of weather stripping adhesive.

So I haven’t run the bandeirante for a couple months. New batteries and it started right up. Figured I’d test the blower/fan switch and BAM!!! Both speeds work. I love it when things just work.

On another note, this firewall doesn’t have the heater jackets to install the window defrost vents to. Although it does have a Canadian window frame. There is no through vents to connect the air flow from firewall to window frame. That means the top has to be lifted to lean the window forward. Which these hinges don’t allow the window to fold. Sounds like a spring time job. Although I can modify the firewall to accept the folding window hinges. One thing leads to another.

Looking good.
I was just trying to think if I have a 24v rear heater kicking around still.

That business with the defrost is a pain eh?
I have to run my washer hose up through the frame on mine...same deal. That's gonna wait until the roof is off again in the summer.

And I'll probably forget and be bitching about it in November 🤣

The TJ seat is a perfect fit. It folds and tumbles. Enough room for two adults. Heater is the perfect hobby for the tumble brackets. This is just a test fit. I have to bolt everything down still. The seats even gray. Not perfect but good enough for me. I have to go get some riv nuts and rent the tool to bolt the jumper seats in.

Plenty of room to fit half a sheet of plywood. Lol

Looks very similar.

How far behind the front seats is the front of the TJ seat?

I've got an air driven rivnut tool. I'm in Texas but home tomorrow
I'm just going to go buy one, I think the rental is super cheap too. Far easier than a 4 hour return drive but I do appreciate the offer.

I don't know if you have one there, but KMS tools has a decent looking one that comes with some RivNuts for a decent price. Hopefully it's also not 4 hours away (or more).

I bought one of the astro whatever brand ones off Amazon. 50-60 bucks. I've used it a fair bit. Seems fine.

We have one at work that ratchets, really nice, but more like 300 bucks... I couldn't justify that for the amount I use it

Even the one at work I had wasn't that fancy, and it wasn't used often.

That said, I have put in about 6 in my 40 and have another 8 to go in on the Ambo. Chances are good that It'll outlast my need for it.
