I figure knowing which wheels don't work is just as valuable as knowing those that do. Having said that, Vision PN 84H7883NS (17x8 4" BS) is a no go. TRE cleared by at least half an inch, but you'll need spacers to clear the caliper. Probably could clear it if you made 1/8-3/16" of room. Grinding may have allowed for clearance, but I'm not keen to take a grinder to new wheels or components I'm depending on to stop me. Spacers would definitely have solved the problem, but I'm hard-headed there, too.

Called Pro Comp and their rep is adamant that PN 977983S3.5 will work (he also stated that Series 97 is a superceded 98, so it should be the same wheel). Got one on the way from Summit. Maybe I got burned with going the discount route with Vision...we'll see what happens when the PCW unit gets here.

Update:

Got all the wheels in and found a farmer here locally who had just pulled a set of five matching 285/70R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3s off of his 80-series. Just got them mounted up, and everything fits well. I couldn't be happier with the new look. The Pro Comp Series 97s (PN 977983S3.5) are 17x9 with 3.5" backspacing. If you're after the pizza cutter look - these aren't the parts you want to use. As you can see, everything sits flush and has a full, balanced look. Haven't stuffed everything into the fenders yet, but there are several inches clearance of all nearby components at full lock in each direction.

Thanks for posting these zjohnsonua, My PN 977983S3.5 arrived today and are being installed on Tuesday next week. I'm running a 33x12.5x17 MT so I'll post up some pictures as well, 1/2 inch shorter but almost an inch wider than your tires, per the online calculators.

Has anyone fit SCS F5 17x8.5 4.3” -10mm? I saw some earlier posts with the 17x9s but would like to tuck the tires in the fenders a bit more.

Before and after, I like the simple look of the steel wheels and they are 33x12.5x17 on the ProComp 17x9 wheels with 3.5 inch back spacing. Zero rub with a tired old OME medium lift and no grinding needed for calipers.

I just got these last year. I have liked them quite a bit. At the time, the set of 33x12.5x25 Maxxis Bighorns and rims was $1600 for a set of 5.

I should probably run a 1" spacer in the rear. If I'm wheeling hard and stuff the rear tire it will rub just a touch on the inner wheel well. Not enough to notice while your wheeling... You just notice some paint wear after a trip.

Also note that this wheel/tire set up fits in the factory spare tire under-carrier location despite not being there in this photo. I'm dealing with trailer wiring and have it removed at the moment.

Looks like one and the same. Discount is showing 3 day delivery on them currently but that may be smoke. Hoping someone has some feedback on them or alternatives in a similar 16x7 or 16x6 camp.

Going with spacers will end up being ridiculous.
I don't think the standard wheel lugs would be long enough for the spacing needed.

Yes, perfect. Great tire and wheel combo there. I run that same size tire on my 02 Tacoma and really like the size, very practical and inexpensive comparatively speaking. Still have factory 15s on my 60. Tempting to switch over to 16s though.

I've still got about 25 FJ60/62 chrome spoke wheels lying around, but decided to go to 16" wheels and tires. I had been running BFG 33X9.50/R15 ATs forever, and when BFG quit making that size I decided the 32" tall tires would be a good compromise for my '86 FJ60 with OME suspension. And it'll give me the ability to run @75 mph at less than 3,000 rpm (3FE/H55f/4:11s). I see that as the perfect set-up for a mix of highway driving to get to the trailheads in the Four Corners area/Nevada/southern California, and the decent crawl ratio for the trails when we get there.

As much as I like these for looks, fit and balance. I think they might be a bit wide. I'm still on the fence, I have a BJ74 that the old
ProComps 17x9 with 4" BS are now on. The extra 1/2" seems to make a difference to me, just getting a lot more mud and debris down the
side of the truck. But they do look perfect.

It is a 4Plus front bumper. I've modified it with plate welded to top deck for standing on
and mounting lights further back. I've since cut the hoops off so it's just a bumper. It required some
serious cutting and grinding to make that compressor winch to fit, but it's a perfect fit when all done.
Its proven to be perfect!
