Roof console is done! Its in the troopy at the moment, but it will bolt right out and go into the ute when its done.

I also started a bracket that will hold my high lift on the foot rest passenger side, the same little mount will hold the UHF aerial.

Nice console!

Thanks it came up really well.

its just MDF and aluminium angle. The electrics got a little complicated though

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust ....

Some of my connectors are turning to powder..

So today I transformed this:

To this:

And this:

But I wonder what to do about my coolant reservoir cap? :hmm: (It's turning to powder too.)

Guess committed now. Pulled steering and have new set (TREs, rods, center arm, box, and stabilizer) already painted and ready on bench.

Pitman arm won't come off with heat, pb, hammer and the puller broke. Hope I can remove the box and arm together.

Best of luck. SnapOn makes a kick ass puller.

I had one on a spare box I wasn't able to get off even with a cutting torch... Three cuts most of the way through and it still wouldn't budge.

looked at all the paint swatches that don't match what we want to see :bang:

If nobody said this type of puller is much stronger, i bought a fairly generic one off amazon and and it kicked a name brand 3 arm on in the backside.
I believe the magic word is "bell puller" then the size you need

I should warn you it makes a heck of a noise when i popped off finally.. it was nearly a time to wish i had brown pants on

That's what I used - worked like a charm. I also bought the larrest size I could find from Amazon - I believe it is OTC brand

Thank you Caladin and RW...

Turns out that removing box with arm on AND fender in place is a b...

Even if I cut the arm (which I hate to do) and get the box out, I still have to remove it from the box.

Should have bought the right tool up front :bang:

Yes, much easier job with fender removed... I was able to remove the arm (with no fender in the way), from the box, with just a large arm puller and Liquid Wrench and a propane torch and a LOT of patience... Patience is key. Good luck!!

I once bent a good sized puller trying to get the arm off. Put on the biggest one I could fit next and it, too, was doing nothing for me. I saturated the joint with Kroil and walked away for the night, leaving the puller under tension. The next morning when I went to apply the torch, the puller was lying on the ground and the arm fell off in my hand. Kroil is good stuff!
