Still driving it, but taking a break from serious work to install some vintage NIB amber lights. Not stock, I know, but they are growing on me now.

Front parking lights---and tires--and winch
.....and new exhaust, and new OME lift.

Next up: bending and installing a new steel fuel line, made possible by Pen Head's generosity of supplying a inlet nipple at the carb.

Drove my nearly finished 69 to visit a nearly finished 77. Oddly enough we live about 3 miles from each other and both started our projects about 2 1/2 years ago. fj40s.jpeg image.jpeg

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that head set you back? I recently picked up a used head for my F engine for $175. It's down at the machine shop being checked out.

Don
rebuilt head from SOR was ~ $750-it had all the valves/seats reground, springs and guides checked and head magnafluxed for cracks and resurfaced--I'm happy with it so far.

Finally got something done on my ute! First time ever doing "serious" Engine work and I changed the glow plugs since one shorted and set fire to a wire  so I put in a fuse and changed the plugs! Starts easy now. I also changed the fuel filter... not a good sign when you take apart the old one and find sludge. Oh well, it did it's job but now I swear I've gained a few hp :hillbilly:

Yeah that's why I was worried about my fuel filter. My sedimenter was bypassed a long time ago and I took it to pieces to find out just over a year ago. It was loaded with all sort of crap and that worried me a lot haha. Still soon I'm getting a proper centrifugal water separator and filter and such since I think I may have lost the sedimenter :O I'll go looking for it soon.

I built this as a storage solution for my Fourty. It's a Cargo barrier that folds down to lock into position as a cargo platform. I was going to have canvas putt on the outside of the cargo barrier to cut down on wind and rain since I don't have a top. When the cargo barrier folds down you can fit an ARB ice chest underneath along with what ever else you don't want getting smashed or flying out. I usually ride around with it down but I had to flip it up yesterday to drive some tires across town. IMG_3794.JPG IMG_3796.JPG IMG_3797.JPG IMG_3799.JPG IMG_3801.JPG

LC, Well done! Nice solution for sfety and storage. Welcome and great 1st. post!

My brother and I finished a project that didn't want to end. We decided to reused our old wheels, so they needed to be sand blasted and painted. We collected parts to create a four inch lift. Bilstein 5125 shocks and Skyjacker 4 inch soft ride leafs and poly bushings all around. The ride is amazing. Have I mentioned that we put on 33 inch Wrangler MTRs, which are AWESOME!

I Really love the Black n' Tan look - esp with those widened stock steelies. Who did your wheel work - have details?

Nice thinking there with the cargo rack LC magi. What did you use for the hinges? I'm have a hinge dilemma at the moment......

Also curious as to your design decisions in terms of the bar work. While it seems a simple square frame would have worked I really dig the way you added the bars out to the sides etc.

The wheels were widened by Jerry Robbins in Calhoun, Georgia.

Looks like I'm the 1st to be the a****** on this one: Stumps?! really? That is a BAAAAD idea. Surf CL and get some more jack stands.

Truck looks good, just take the proper precautions to make sure you're around to enjoy it.
