Installed OEM style family cage.....

How did that mount? I would like to see more pics. I have never seen anyone with a cage and long jump seats without moving the jump seats out from the truck sides with a spacer. It does not appear you did that.

Picked up the frame from the powder coater & starting putting it all back together.....finally! OME lift kit from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters should be here in a day or two. Time to start putting the axles back together.

I did not move the jump seats. They are in their stock location. The rear hoop straddles the last rib on the fender well. It just barely clears the end of the jump seat. BTW previous owner cut off the arm rest part of the seats, so that was out of the way. The front hoop sits on a heavy duty mount that I built over the filler neck that takes the load down to the main cross member. The hoop is shortened at the base on the passenger side to sit above the filler neck. The drivers side sits on a mount as well that is fender hieght. I think it looks more balanced.

New dual battery tray and ARB pump for future lockers.

The 4+ tray would not fit from the shop due to my oversized alternator.

With some help from Batcon, there was an extension added to push it further back.

Fortunately, this opened up the perfect spot for my ARB pump.

Criticism of this setup is welcome, as it is all custom and there may be something I missed...

Fantastic, just solved my ARB problem where to mount the compressor

I bought a speedo cable off eBay. NOS for my screw in type speedometer. Took 15 minutes to pull the old one out and put this one in..... No more jumping speedometer on speeds less than 50 moh!!!!!

Got some new Bilsteins installed. I realized after I installed them that they're too long. Luckily I can move these ones to the rear and just order new ones for the front.

Finally traced down the engine cooling fan circuit and replaced the blown fuse under the passenger dash. Fan works now!

Finally installed my Jim C rebuilt carb on my 40.

As expected, it ran great after I found my vacuum hose screw up.

Checked all the fluids, as it's been sitting all winter.

I had it out today. Hard to imaging missing driving a car but I did miss it.

Waiting to get the 55 back, it should be soon and then a wheeling trip.

installed the 2 inch liftkit from dobinson, wired up a 24V to 12V converter because I heard carnavigation doesn't do so well wtih 24V and installed sabelt reclineable bucket seats

Last week:
New Holley 750 CFM carb
New Spark plugs

This week:
New rear drive shaft... Broke the old one earlier this week being an idiot $$$
Rebuilding the transmission & gearbox (th350 & NP205)

Next week
New headers & exhaust going on
New steering column going in
god only knows what else.

When do I get to drive this thing?

Installed gasket on top of thermostat. Seems PO missed it when replacing thermostat and housing and and engine temp never completely warmed up to first mark on 78 fj temp guage

Brought it home! A deal we couldnt pass up. It was purchased in 1972 and then had the V-8 swap the same year. The guy we got it from was converting it to an FJ45 but didnt finish. I am going to pick up a 40 body to put back on. The modified 45 cab is going in a special spot for my sons first car.

Picked up a 54mm socket. Removed slop in steering by re-packing front wheel bearings and torquing to specs. Plan on getting alignment
