Is that a stock color? if so what is the color code?

Haven't done SFA to my 66 FJ40 in a long time, even though there's a bunch of overdue maintenance. Been working on and driving my BJ60 with no time left over for my other trucks. The BJ60 has filled in the light wheeling/camping truck role so I've been asking (asked :princess:) some tough questions about my 40's purpose and direction.

This weekend I picked up some parts that have narrowed down the scope :).

Since I can't move my rear axle back more than a couple inches (rear aux. tank) to fit my aquisition, I need to move the engine forward; so I need a shorter engine. Been wanting to go diesel now that I've gotten used to the BJ60, and I've pretty well decided on a B series diesel.

Current goal: turbo'd 3B/H42/2.28toybox/J30 t.case. A little taller, rubber overdrive (or 3.70 axles, we'll see), better brakes. Well, it's a start, now to find a suitable 81/82 BJ60 donor for the rest...

So it all didn't happen this week, but here's a picture after I finished adding my 3274 winch to the front and replacing my stock springs with a used set of Safari's. (Thanks CruiserDave). They gave me about 3.5 inches more in the rear and about an inch of lift in the front. I added some greasable shackle bolts that I machined my self because I had a hard time swallowing the costs of pre-made options.

I decided I kind of like the stock bumper curved look so I beefed up the inside with a "C" channel to mount the winch. I'll probably add a tube to it that would look like the Man-a-Fee bull bumper and cut about 6 inches off of each end.

Oh... I also installed my OCD bikini top for the 100+degree day's we've been having.

Took my 40 camping before it goes under the knife next week. I'll be replacing the rear quarters with new sheet metal and repainting the truck. The Roller Derby girls from the local parade loved it. They even said nice land cruiser instead of nice *eep

Loaded my 2 kids and wife and took them to the local parade yesterday. I smile everytime I drive my 40. The looks and comments you get are worth it. I hadn't started the truck in 3 weeks until yesterday. It wouldn't start. I had to use starting fluid to get her going. Maybe it's because I was on a steep incline and I couldn't get the gas to the carb? It started fine after that.

Olive Green, not Olive Brown. All the green codes start with a '6'. CCOT has been propagating this error for a long time.

speaking of which, where does that go ^

The tag? It's attached to the firewall on the passenger side. I don't have a good picture of exactly where, but you should be able to find one around. Like this:

In the spirit of the thread, I did a compression check which was good, replaced some vacuum lines with the correct sizes to fix leaks and got Marvin running well. He probably still needs a carb rebuild.

Then I finished up my traction bar. Done. 100%. It's been a while since I was completely done with anything on this project and it feels great. I took some pictures which I'll post sometime.

No kidding! I noticed he can look right over the hood!

I like the “space invaders” bed sheet….does he have jammies to match?
