Hit the DMV to get the annual tag for the cruiser thinking that I was late couple months paying the registration but the DMV clerk told me I already paid so he gave me a new tag :bounce:

Kalifornia cops are hungry nowaday, 60 of them just got laid off here in the city because of budget issues, they are looking to fine people for small infraction, there was TV program talked about cops stop people with a-month-old expired tags.

Installed a Be Cool radiator.

The stock radiator allowed the temp to climb to around 225* when idling around for extended periods of time.

New radiator keeps the temps down around 220* LOL... I think I need a shroud, I only have an electric fan at this point. (195* t-stat)

I drove it today :bounce:

and, after pulling into the garage, found the wire to the back-up light on the rear bumper ripped off

installed new wire with heatshrink crimps

and then wrapped both taillight wires into wirelooms - I had been meaning to do that since 2006

Are the spacers to keep the disc in correct line with the caliper so the caliper can stay in the stock location? If so how thick is the spacer? I have been considering a similar mod but have been wondering how to set up the brakes.

Don

Yes that is the plan. The spacer dimensions are here: Axle Widening Kit

Using hilux IFS hubs you can use the same free wheeling hubs.

finished brake lines
installed hood
got windshield installed locally
hooked up throttle
installed air cleaner and new filter
waiting on new PS pump and box to arrive

ordered a bunch of odds and ends this morning also so hoping to have it ready to drive besides fluids, driveshafts, and minor things by the end of this week.

Volt meter

Installed a Volt meter last week, because I suspect my generator or my voltage regulator is not working ok. We'll see.

Thank you!! I knew about being able to use the freewheeling hubs, but wasn't sure about how to set up the brakes.

Completed "Project Roof Hoist". And then took the roof off:

Good idea to store the doors up there too. I used the same hoist for mine and just installed it this last spring; wish I had done it years ago.

Replaced my POS MAF steering box with a Marks Off-Road rebuild. Took three pitman arm pullers, a new adapter for the steering wheel( larger splines on the new box) but it's all done and all good.

Installed new lap belts in my '67.

we were only out for like 3 hours, but I mangled it, again

the transfer case shifter knob cracked when I went into 2LO

I went into the garage and made a promise to the Green Monster, That I will finish the disc brake conv. as soon as it cools down a bit . 113 deg. right now. Gotta love Arizona (Yeah Right) !!! Why did I leave So. Cal.

Ok I have to ask, what are you using for wiper motors? Mine still work fine but if they do fail I would like a more modern easily replaceable option.

Don't Laugh it worked.

With the larger 33 inch itres, my speedo was running ~ 5-7 mph off at Highway speed. So when I fixed the odometer, I biased the speedo ~ 5mph ( mounted at 5 mph not 0).

At low speeds it is off, but where I care about it, 45-65 it is great! At 55 I am almost exactly on per the GPS
