Engine is undergoing a rebuild, I get the head back from the machine shop tomorrow.

I put in some NGK spark plugs, changed the oil, put in some anti freeze and started it for the first time in a year and a half.

Finally got my HFJ45 (FJ45 with H diesel transplant, sort of) off the farm and down to my storage. I'll be able to start the (now longer) job of getting back on the road.

Never ceases to amaze me the utter cretinism displayed by some tow truck operators and car carrier companies.
When your going to winch a 4X4 with 2 flat tyres(on opposite corners) onto a tilt tray, wouldn't you think to make sure the hub locks are unlocked, the transfer box is in neutral and the hand brake is off?? I might add that the truck does start and drive but its a farm truck so its a little complicated.
Tow truck driver didn't want to listen about starting instructions too much of a hurry to get somewhere else.
The Car carrier wasn't any better, didn't bother to pump the tyres up or (as instructed) unlock the hubs and shift the transfer to neutral. Then whine about how long it took to load coz the brakes must be locked.. no its in 4wd lo with the hubs locked and the hand brake on.:whoops: Can't tell some people. :bang:

Now I have to wait till Sunday (when I have some time to myself) to see what the damage to the transmission/diffs/axles/birfields are. :frown:
If I'd known how much aggravation I'd go through employing professional bozos, I would have taken a day off work hired a trailer and truck, and picked the truck up myself. :bang:

Hey it only took them 3 weeks to do the job (truck was 2 1/2 hrs away), but at least I've now got my truck where I can work on it.

My next project (after the HFJ) will be to build a car trailer so I won't be at the mercy of brain dead drongos...

Installed the weatherstripping, rollcage, console, seats and overhead console yesterday. I started to install the ham radio and ran out of daylight. The weather gods were smiling on me for sure. 74 and sunny and it was Nov. 3.

Moved the stereo antenna, replaced a busted Rancho bumpstop with one of my ABS with factory snubber, made a new water can holder, installed an FJ55 domelight in the overhead console, adjusted the brakes, started working on a design for a rear drawer system, mounted fire extinguisher and CO2 bottle, built an A pillar rollcage tie-in.

Drove it for a change!

I haven't touched the rig since early spring; trying to take care of a few little things and get it back on the road. So far this week I've worked on fitting F250 shock towers, plumbing rebuilt carb, repairing rusty bib, installing discs up front and collecting parts for FJ60 steering swap.

Took the original grey Toyota wheels out of the attic and had the tires pulled off and disposed of. Gonna clean up, re-paint, and have them ready to replace the A.M. wagon wheels when the current tires rot out.

Put one new shackle on it... THANKS MAF!!!

Replaced (temporarily) the offending 2 flat tyres.
Put Fully charged battery in, gave a squirt of spray can degreaser (85%kerosene, 10%toluene and LPG propellant) into the open throttle.
Turned the key and viola, she runs, drove it for the first time in 12 months. Discovered that have a slightly longer list of things to do

The list now includes repairing the service brakes, and hand brake.
Starting to look like its going to be a total body off resto, or I'll bundle it with all the acquired booty onto ebay and make it someone elses project.
I need to sleep on it....

Took it off a trailer, installed the ignition system, dumped some gas down it's throat and fired it up!

Paint looks really nice. What color is that exactly?

Found a young sexy roommate.
