Picked up a complete hard top fastener kit from overland metric. i know the long hex heads go for hard top to body and hard top to roof. Can anyone help with the others?

Overland Metric has the ”others“ as well. Just click the ”Stainless” header. The drop down has what you need.

Almost time to lose the top!
Indeed …mine is coming off ASAP. ….the last cold spell happened a few days ago. How about those winds? My daughter left a screen door unlatched and it went bye bye.

I would guess:

2 separate bolts go to windshield to roof header (exterior-near upper wipers)
4 star nuts and 4 fat screws + 2 lock washer and nuts = upper door frame to windshield
6 longer screws = upper front door frame/header (they are hidden under the panel that needs to be pried off)
short screws = (rear corner upper lift glass) side panels to bracket
bolts = hardtop to sides & roof cap to sides

Installed a $50ish dollar Bosch Tach from Advanced Auto. Cut most of the PVC wire and used GXL. Switch on the back allows for selection of 4,6,8 cylinders. Fit snuggly under the factory steering covers. No interference issues.

When all these pieces come together there will be a mighty Warn 8274. Everything that could be re-zinced was and the housing was powder coated in Prismatic Galaxy Grey and the drum satin black. Now the fun part, reassembly.

Good move replacing the solenoids with a contactor; much better reliability in my experience. Are you upgrading the motor also, or putting the stock one back?

Just going to use the stock motor for now. Just need to figure out how to wire everything up. I bought a new WARN 5 pin socket and remote and found a decent wiring diagram on MUD. I had @Fourrunner build me new cables all around too. They are beefy!

Thanks Fireman! That makes sense

Replacing the LEDs I had up front with the Toyota halogens.

Early warning signs. Opened the hood for some routine maintenance and found this:

Black soot on the underside of the hood that looks a lot like a fan belt that is starting to fail. Five decades of wrenching on cruisers says further investigation required. Grab the fan blade. Yup. Half an hour later:
