this is what is going on in my land cruiser this week Mr. FjCman

my Photos are my form of artwork ......:)

Picked a new (old) one up last Saturday. this week I did a few things to prep for passing TX inspection:
  1. got the horn working via a switch on the dash --> may try to fix the steering wheel switch later, but for now mounted a relay neat the battery and ran the switch to the relay pulling from the live wire from the under wheel fuse panel.
  2. rewired the license plate lamp --> had a single wire but the bulb/socket wasn't grounding - so ran a ground wire.
I also got a bikini top, and am on a slow hunt either for doors and a top or maybe soft top ... but I probably won't need a top until November at this point.

Shifter / transfer case boots arriving next week. Probably ordering some lap belts b/c the current only sometimes locks when tugged.

Goal to pass inspection and really start to familiarize myself with the truck over the next 2 months.

This forum has been great so far -- thanks!

right before backing off the trailer. starts right up and runs great. in addition to the basic fixes above, I think I need the bright light indicator to work and then off to inspection. But leaving town so it will sit like this for another week ...

I like the LED lighting. Will they also work in the FJ70 lights? I have broken those lights on the fenders too many times and was thinking of using the 70 series lights to get them tucked in closer.
Please PM

As I don’t fully understand your question.

Anyone know a source for these two grommets behind the trans hump?

I couldn't find any sources for foil OEM jack labels. So, I reached out to Chris at Toyota4low. He turned my design into a perfectly-sized OEM foil label. If anyone needs one of these, he now has them available on his site:

Early FJ40 Landcruiser Bottle Jack Decal - https://toyota4low.com/products/landcruiser-bottle-jack-custom

Toyota4Low - https://toyota4low.com

Added the refurbished jack to its new home inside the Tuffy console:
Thanks for posting link and creating the artwork. Using the jack reference, there was no documentation showing decals for the different 09110-35011 variants A-E. Where did you find information for the decal? I’m reassembling my jack and will buy decal if my variant D had the decal.

The labels are tough to find info on. I tried to locate possible sources using some of the older references of vendors (i.e. MetricTLC). None of them seem to be making the labels anymore. So, I pieced together details based on a few of the posts below. From what I could gather, for the 35011 jacks, there are two main differences in the top neck size - that relates to the type of label that was on the jack.

This post showed a picture of a 1971-1976 jack label with the narrow top flange

Another pic of the narrow flange from an OEM jack and a few pics of variants (although the labels are all worn)

Overall jack reference sheet with some good specs
Land Cruiser Jack Reference - FJ25 FJ40 FJ45 FJ55 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/media/albums/land-cruiser-jack-reference-fj25-fj40-fj45-fj55.5174/

Based on the info, I recreated the label and sent the source image to Chris to create. Thought about making it myself with some foil Avery labels, but figured I'd probably mess that up...

Since I had a narrow neck jack (set 1976 model) I created the attached file for repro:

Just when you think you’ve done your homework on restoring your truck, someone raises the bar. Nice work and thanks… Now everyone who has restored their variant D jacks will need this decal.
